goalkeeper situation

imho i think we should try and get combe from killie. his flexibility is amazing and ood shot stopping. we should keep makalamby and he should e no2 and grof should be no 3. i defo think we should get rid of mcneil and zibi mcneil is far 2 small and makes no communication with the team and sems to think hes it which he defo is not. tbh i think thats why we lose so many games when he is in goalsevery top corner and bottom shots beat him and he made a terrible fumble against barca!!

Combe is prone to far more errors than Makalambay. It wouldn't take long for the boo-boys to get on his back. So no, I'm not WIV you.

I think Combes pish and only ever gets touted as a signing because he's a Hibee.
He has a list of embarrassing errors almost as long as Zibbi's. The 5th in the cup final, the throw against the back of the Aberdeen players head......

Sorry, but McNeil is too small and made a fumble against Barca ?? Now I know McNeil has had a few incidents, but the close season, he was one of our best performers. Every goalkeeper makes a fumble, some happen at "less important" times than others. One thing a keeper does need though, is support. Well the majority anyway. Now I personally feel I am well placed in this arguement, as in a cup final, I made a blunder to put the opposition 1-0 up... in extra-time! I was lying on the ground, devastated and only got up when I heard my best friend shout "get up Ross, we still love you." It was all the support I needed, and got back up, and had a decent enough finish to the game. If you don't believe this, ask SKII.

My point is, encourage McNeil, don't get on his back.

Im with you mate....our goalkeeping situ is dire and has been since Dal Anderson left. A decent goalie is a nesessaty.

I felt sorry for McNeil against Barca. Between Hogg and Jones he had hee haw protection from his centre halves. If we could get Hoggy playing like he did last season I would be looking for a left sided centre half because for me Jones is a seriously weak link at the back.

I'm wiv Bampotto. Combe is just as accident prone as our 3 experienced keepers. Also, I can't see a goalkeeper being high on Mixu's priority list when he already has 4 on the books.

Nah, all you're trying to say is after your first suggestion has been slated by some, you're pretending that you were talking about anyone. And you ken what, "anyone" isn't better than what we have. "Anyone" being better than Simon Brown left us with Zibby.

I also don't even know who the fuck McGovern is fwiw. I've no idea who he plays for. I've no idea who he signed for. I've almost certainly not seen him play. And I'm wondering when you have, what the level of opposition was etc etc?

Fraser is a reasonable keeper, but has also had games where he was very much at fault for goals. Do that with Hibs in one game, and the support loses confidence in you immediately, and you will never get it back. We've shattered the confidence of our three keepers before Ma-Kalambay imo. McNeil came in and done okay at the end of last season.
