The board lost us Mogga and JC...

But in Mixu i fear they've appointed a manager they'll fire...

Shame but they're setting him up for a fall. That said Mixu's tactics won't help him with the support...

Mogga always saw Hibs as a stepping stone in his career. He played up here and knows full well the stranglehold the OF have. He was merely biding his time until an offer came in and had probably peaked as far as Hibs were concerned. Both were good for each other in the short term.
The Board didn't hasten his departure though. His ambition did.

JC may well have been more of a Board victim, although again maybe he had already achieved all he could by securing silverwear.

He talks too posh if you ask me. Reason enough to fire him.

For the avoidance of doubt, anything stated in the above post is written without prejudice; is probably completely uninformed opinion, and possibly just a figment of my imagination. Readers should either ignore, treat with contempt, or simply accept the spirit it is written in, without recourse to huffy replies, legal action or threats of violence.
That includes YOU.

But was it really a coincidence that TM was away within a few months of the first installment of the sale of the century? He saw the side would break up, and that there would be no money there to sign replacements. So he got out before having to deal with the consequences of that imo. I don't blame him for that tbh.

It was when we sold Gary O'Connor that the tone of Tony Mowbray changed in media interviews. He let it be known he was not going to be hanging around much longer...

Funny though how he declined the approach from his ex club Ipswich that very summer.

Someone i spoke to said that Mark Venus told him that certain promises were given by the board that 2007 summer.

Then come the end of September he's off to WBA. Now i'd agree with Dr Shrink that we were just a stepping stone for Mowbray (As we are ultimately to everyone) but i just find it a bit strange that Ipswich are declined one month and then a couple of months later he's off. Are WBA a bigger club than Ipswich?

It's all to convenient this "John Collins was a crap manager who signed donkeys.." line from a section of our support. He may well have been.

However, what can't be questioned is his principles and integrity.

On a point of principle he left a job i've no doubt he didn't want to leave. The principle being the amount of reinvestment of HUGE transfer receipts being at a level that was just ridiculous. It made the job impossible.

He resigned in such a way that gave him the opportunity to speak to us the support and tell us the facts. He said that as Hibernian manager the board were not going to support him with reinvestment.

He wasn't prepared to be made a pussy by Rod Petrie. The difference is we the support are.

Petrie is responsible for a chronic lack of investment in the team. The cheapest option is not always the best one no matter how much the Petrie sycophants try to find excuses for his fanatical penny pinching

And the support have continually been second guessing his reasons for leaving ever since he went. And the fact is that nothing I've ever read or heard has came close to being as good or as logical as the reasons he gave himself. Within a few hours of him leaving, people were saying he was going to Fulham. When that never happened people immediately started looking for a different reason. Fact is though that the reasons he gave were emminently sensible, and plenty grounds for him leaving if he felt that way. And it's been pretty much ignored by the support, and he's been used as a scapegoat by many of us. Which I find remarkable tbh.
