Anyone have any idea why Benji wasn't on the bench today?

Was he injured

or did Mixu just not want him in the squad?

Hope it was just an injury but i do feel Mixu doesnt fancy him. Especially from what he has seen. IMO Benji needs a fair run in the team. Only started 2 games since Mixu took over.

I really hope he stays. Can't see it though, if he cant even make the bench.

Think he is sure to be away as soon as the transfer window opens.

Is a shame as had talent, but this season has been a disaster for him.

I think he'll be away in the summer unfortunately. Mixu doesn't seem to rate him, and to be fair, he hasn't exactly sparkled in the few appearances he has had this season. I had such high hopes for him this season, I think everyone did.

There should be a few others going out the door with him too mind you...

I agree he has been poor. He doesn't look like he wants it at times.

But i have no real problem with his attitude like some others. I would be quite a moody shit after this kind of frustrating season.

When he warmed up against Rangers last week he patted the hibs badge, on his training top, like the club meant something to him. Also when i took a trip to the training ground i was really shocked to see how happy and cheery he was, always had him down as one of they "miserable" players.

Benji has the ability, i think he needs a fresh chance next season to show it. Hopefully playing for the cabbage. Or is this too optimistic?

He probaly was not playing because of his shocking performances after the sillyness of Ramadam this year he never played well after that and if i was Mixu and seen what hes done all season (Nothing) then he'd be shown the door.

Ah I see.

That's fair comment. Although I think it may have been the differing attitudes of Tony M and JC that caused the difference. As I recall it Tony asked Benji and Zoomer 'can you play' and if they said yes then they were in contention for a place. JC took the view that from a diet/nutrition/fitness point of view they were both struggling to be up for selection.

This is all claptrap. The only guy leaving in the Summer is Steven Fletcher. If Mowbray or some other EPL outfit isnt in with a £3m bid I'll be very very surprised. And when Fletcher goes, we're going to need Benjelloun! The guy has the pedigree to score us plenty goals.

apart from a dozen games before and after the cup final he's done feck all in a hibs strip imo
i wouldnt be the slightest bit bothered if he left
shame he likes to do his talking (going to celtic then madrid) in the papers and not on the pitch
we need 100% ers at easter road not passengers who try and con the fans by kissing badges

For whatever reason this season has been a disaster for Benji. I don't agree that we should be looking to offload him, however. Have a look at the cup final and the outstanding talent he showed on the biggest stage. Look at how Zemmama flourished late this season with a run in the team and a bit of freedom to play. Benji is one of the most talented players in our squad, which is hardly flush with attacking brilliance. We should be looking to get him back to the form of pre-seson . With Benji fireing on all cylinders we could be looking at Shiels, Nish, Fletcher and Benji all capable of getting into double figures next year.

Sure there will be a few more than Fletch leaving in the summer....Mixu will get rid of a few of JC's players that he brought in and havn't done enough for Hibs and there are quite a few of them and will continue to build a squad that he can work with over next season.

i have it from a good sourse there was three clubs who made inquirys about him in january ,the man at the top asking price for the player was beyond what is a true price for the player who can't even make bench

he had done what he had to. why you dont just let ramadan out of this issue. not only him who fast. check out how many muslim players in european leagues.

I think ramadan was behind Ronaldinho weak performance this year.
