I remember hearing some story about a gypsy curse being put on Hibs after we won the Scottish Cup 107 years ago. Can anyone shed any light?

It is written about in one of the books on Hibs but I cannot remember which one. If I get time I will try and look it up.

Ok anorak on time. I remember reading something regarding this. I'm sure it was in the 100 years of Hibs book which I got as a present in 1975!!! The story as I remember it was that some gypsiy woman was inscensed that when the "new stand" ( our old wooden one) was being built she found out that the the Harp symbol was not to be put on the side. The curse was that as long as the harp was not on the stand then Hibs would never again win the Scottish Cup. That's the story as I recall.

I think that's the right story.

I'm no sure if it's true though since I stuck a Guinness beermat on the stand before the Cup Final in 2001 and it never seemed to work...

i heard it was due to the noise made after we won it in 1902 or something and that it wont be broken until someone pisses in 1 swoop on all 4 corners of easter road

Think the story was that the curse wouldn't be lifted until the Harp was back above the entrance to the Stand?

What entrance was this? Certainly hasn't been 107 years since that was taken down.
