Two tier/single tier, which one do you think will look best when it's sitting 1/2 empty.That is the scenario we will be facing if we do't stop fucking about in the transfer market.Maybe im alone, but for me the lack of investment has cost us dear in recent years.Classic examlpe, was we never invested in jan and lost a very winnable game against the relegated dunfermline in the cup semi.We then lost the whole nucleus, of possibly our best team in years,only for jc to be told here's £50.00 do your best.Then it was mp's turn, with murray already on route he went for Zarabi/nish/rankin,that was his£50.00 spent.Imo two of those three have changed the way we play,zarabi cant play and nish has turned us into a long ball team.
Ok we have won a few games lately, but the standard of football has been utter crap.If we have £6million for a new stand,surely we should ensure we have a team playing attractive/winning football or our attendances will fall.

We are in the £100-250k market at the moment. If we start paying £300-500k P/P is it going to turn us into 3rd place certainties? Pay that kind of cash for players & they need more wages & a bigger signing on fee.

I dont have a definitive answer for you,but if you take the combined cost of rankin,gatthuesi,courier,o'brien,sowumni,donaldson to name a few,and buy say 2 players of better quality,who have more experience of the game.That is the way I would go.

We got lucky with a batch of very talented players coming through at the same time, it won't happen again in a hurry , if ever.

Murphy was indeed a cheap option. We got lucky with him. But with such options you're much likely to get unlucky..

Petrie did indeed oversee the money drain from ER, but apart from a couple of transfer fees the wages were extortionate & contributed greatly to the mess we were in. The TV money stopped & the shit hit the fan.
As we are now dept free it would be silly to start that particular ball rolling again.
Even if we use your scenario , it still doesn't guarantee a thing.

FWIW i don't think adding the £500 JC wanted was going to get us much better than what we have.

To have better players interested in signing for Hibs it would probably mean doubling the basic wage.
