Utd v Hibs BBC Highlights

There have been a couple of threads about Rankin and about the penalty award [which whilst soft was still a penalty] but what about Deanos goal. I'm not one of the die hard Deano fan club but when he turns it on he turns it on. Oh, and Zoomers pass to him was farking world class [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register]

Re: Zoomer to Deano, poetry in motion

Agree totally it was a fantastic goal, shame we couldn't have held to the lead for a bit longer!

Shiels clearly has weaknesses to his game and can be a bit inconsistent but I can't believe I've been seeing his name come up in the many tedious threads along the lines of "who is baws and should be chucked in the summer'.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but since Mixu has come in Deano has scored six goals... the same number as Fletcher! Probably from less starts too! Yet fletch is off to Real Madrid for 4.5m and deano should be 'let go'???? Madness.

Re: Utd v Hibs BBC Highlights

Anyone else think Darren Dods should have seen red in the second half? The ref gave a yellow for a foul on Fletcher, but in the replay it seems like a deliberate hand-ball by Dods?

I always thought deliberate hand-ball = red card?

Im glad deano and Zemmama are proving myself and a lot of people wrong.

I didn't think they could both play in the same team together, but it looks like with they maybe can as they're showing by getting a run together.

Great goal by Deano and an all round better performance. Still feel he gives possession away too cheaply at times but he's not alone in that respect.

I've not re-viewed it but at the time I thought he brought Fletch down in addition to the hand ball.

I thought it should've been red - same with zarabi...

them losing dodds for a game would be worse than us losing zarabi

having watched him I think the reason you notice him losing possession is he goes nuts and tries to overdoit to win the ball back...boozy does the same too. rankin/zoomer carry on with their game with no obvious anger/frustration at having lost the ball.

in short deano and boozy bring their passing errors to attention be their subsequent actions.

Interested to know if others think the same?

Noticed it more with Deano I have to say. I think he gets caught up in the game and like you say he tries his damnedest to get the ball back but he hasnt really got the skill to tackle properly imo so he often ends up making a pigs ear of the tackle.
