Hibs have a bigger support now than at any time from say 1975 onwards.

Hibs have a bigger support now than at any time from say 1975 onwards.
No we haven't. We have more ST holders than we've ever had which brings up our average gate. Plenty of games I can mind from the 80s with a 25,000 or so capacity and 8000 away supports that were very busy.

We have more people who go every week, but we have less of a casual support than we had not that long ago imo.

You could count the 25k crowds on one hand and they were always against Rangers or Hearts with around 12k away fans ( Half old stand/ enclosure and often a majority in Cave ). Hibs core support then was around 6k, often less for smaller games.

Regarding casual support, the only reason you don't get it now is because there are few decent seats left with all the season ticket holders. If the East gets built this may improve.

We are in a golden age in terms of Hibs crowds.

Hibs average crowd last season was around 14,600. The last time that average was beaten was 72-73, and the time before that was 60-61.
