I'd be delighted if we clinch 3rd from what has been a very up and down season. The summer will be a chance for Mixu to really get the type of players he wants and play how he wants to play. I hope it won't be the industrial type of stuff witnessed yesterday the first few minutes aside.

What worries more is the thought of this side competing in Europe, because I can't see us doing anything other than being embarrassed by some team from some 3rd rate league on the outskirts of europe.

FWIW I think Hibs under JC only played really well for a few games in total, fortunately the team turned up for the big occasions against the bigots and in the cup. There were many games where we ground out wins or had a bit of luck on our side. Especially at the start of the season.

You say 'ground out wins' like that's a bad thing. There were several times this season where things weren't going our way when Collins made a double sub at half time, changedthe formation and we went on to win or salvage an unlikely point.

In comparisson too often Mixu has made the wrong sub, too late on and has only one game plan- he would be totally lost for ideas if his target man was to get a long-term injury.

It doesn't take a footballing genius to say that was dire today. The most exciting thing I saw from the terracing after 3.05pm was that fire. Shocking stuff.

The thing that gets me though is the attitude of our support. Having said all that, a wee bit of perspective is required too.

Mixu came in when we were struggling, also playing gash, imploding off the field and hurtling towards Gretna faster than a fast thingy from fastville.

OK, there is not much improvement in the football, but the impovements in every other area are plain to see.

Give the big fella till Christmas and start to judge him then. I know it's a bit hackneyed and cliched, but give him a chance to put his mark on the club.

Personaly, i'm uber optimistic he'll do more than just a "job" but get us playing with a bit of guile too

Cmon guys some stuf getting said is a bit much, fair enough were playing football alot of dont wana see or some people aint used to after mowbray and JC, also the squad IMO is big but not exactly full of quality that perhaps we have had in recent season's mixu came in at a very tough time when we were crap and he got us winnig again and has got us into contention for 3rd spot which if colins were still here we would be beside the scum in the bottom 6 without a doubt. Give mixu a good pre-season let him get rid of the shite jc brought in and mould his own squad then and only then we can maybe start moaning about his management skills.

I think backing Williamson until he was reluctantly let go for compensation to Plymouth is one hell of a good call.

On Mixu i wouldn't want to see him go. I still back his appointment.

However, i'm concerned at our style of play. For some like you obviously that's not important but for others it is.

I think we all knew Mixu would come in and adopt this style of play to be fair? A Scandanavian approach.. hopefully with a few additions we'll improve going into the new season. Our direct style of play will remain the same though.

It still doesn't mean it won't be effective. We have IMO players we can build a solid team around, an effective team. At the end of the day fitba is a results business and so far Mixu has won more than he's lost. It's not pretty but hopefully with spine of the team already there (Makalambay -Hogg - Murray - Fletch) we can bring in another 2 or 3 players to enhance that. Play some decent stuff along the way but ultimately pick up the results. It's still very early days IMO.
