Mixu

Ok we aint playing fast flowing football just yet.But we are winning more than we are losing.I still have my doubts about Mixu but winning games.Winning games keeps a manager in a job.Would we rather play fast flowing football and be in the bottom 6 or keep playing poor and picking up 3 points most weeks.Thoughts anybody and what are your thoughts on the job Mixu has done so far.Football wise i would give him a 5 out of ten for the football we are playing under him.And 8 out of ten for the results we are getting under him as manager.

I still think it is too early to make an honest comment on my opinian on Mixu

However thus far

He has got the team playing football, not great football, but football none the less, we have steadyily(sp) climbed the table to save us in top 6, At this moment in time we can play scrappy football as long as we get points,

These things we want, the sexy football AND winning each week may come back, but may take a while to happen but i am off the opinian it will happen, will just take time, next season we will see some major changes i think

So until that point i still reserve full judgement

Re: Mixu

Seems that we look good for the first 10 minutes then go to pieces. If the Saints hadnt been so dire ( and McNeill on form) how many of their near misses would have ended up in the net. Sadly for much of the match, the fire billowing behind the South was more interesting.

Having said that, at least we're top 6 and got a chance of Europe, but with only the top 5 left to play, there's no easy pickings. And we've not looked too great there in recent years

Re: Mixu

Seems to me we are winning now against the teams we should, on paper (sort of) beat, and losing to the teams you would expect to beat us.

A hell of a change for Hibs fans, it's usually play brill against the top teams and just come up short or even win gloriously (of late). And lose to teams at the bottom of the pile in ignominious fashion.

So we are now what we are. The flair has fallen away (and we have landed in the style basement )

The defence does though seem more solid and that is the first thing managers who often come good take care of. So although he still has a lot to learn I am right behind him until ten games into next season for sure.

PS Thank god for McNeil having a cracker today

Probably a fair assessment so far. I can understand why so many fans are frustrated when they are paying money to watch football that is not very entertaining. I'm not in a position to go to ER much these days, so I'm probably a bit happier than most as the results have definitely improved.

People can be idealistic and say we should expect good football and good results. Not realistic given the squad currently at his disposal in my opinion. And in his favour, we are currently on course to achieve our best league position in three seasons, are we not? That has to count for quite a lot given the sinking ship Mixu took over. If Collins and Craig had continued much longer, I'm convinced we would have finished in the bottom six.

I'd like to think the entertainment value will improve next season although I'm not so sure about that. My impression is that Mixu is a practical coach rather than a purist like our previous manager(s). Mixu is more concerned with results than entertainment.
