very poor - that god for McNeil

boy was that crap - if it wasn't for McNeil we would have been done for. Two superb goals, dropped out game and then never kicked a ball in the second half. Midfield yet again nowhere. Rankin worst player on show by a country mile.

Oh well, 3 points, onwards and upwards.

Hanlon is a young lad you have to use him sparingly. At a time where the team is playing poor experience is the way to go and that'll be why Zarabi was picked.

The main problem is the midfield, Shiels far too often doesnt contribute anything. Hopefully Shiels dropped next week and give O'brien another opportunity.

Have to disagree. Gatheussi was much, much worse. I shuddered everytime the ball went near him in the second half. Is McCann injured? He's got to be better than that, surely?

Got to agree. You'd think two early goals would settle them down to play some nice football...

Second half in particular was gash.

Just what did Rankin contribute to last 90 minutes?

Deano also a passenger.

Well done Murray & Zemmama running a two man midfield.

Ach why not give the lad another shot. He cant do anyworse right now than what the current midfield is doing. Rankin and Shiels out for Stevenson and O'brien for next week. It's O'briens time to shine

Certainly is about time he shined. Would still be happy to be proved wrong but I'm afraid I've pretty much given up on him now. Could be about time for Stevenson to get more chances though.

Sounds like he had a great second half. Credit to him. Good to see we have real competition for the goalkeeping slot at the moment.

Re: very poor - that god for McNeil

We have to be pragmatic here. Mixu's team are murder to watch but at least we are grinding out results. Imagine how bad it would be if we were playing like that and losing. Last week against Mwell was a bitter taste of what things could be like. We have too many journeymen but it comes back to the old argument about getting what you pay for.

Re: very poor - that god for McNeil

Can't decide whether our poor performances are down to the players or the manager's tactics. Mixu has persisted with this diamond shape but I really don't think we have the players who are good enough to play this way. That said should Mixu really keep on playing a system the players can't cope with or can't play.

We had a few poor performances today again, but playing without a midfield is just madness and allows a very average/poor side like St. Mirren to dominate us at home. Lucky we had a good opening ten minutes to put the game beyond them.

Agreed.
And he had to be very very poor to stand out.

We are playing with two fullbacks who want to play centre half. I think Hogg went off with exhaustion after physically pulling them into position on several occasions.

I didn't think Murray did much either really - but best of a bad lot maybe.

Wouldn't be happy to see O'brien back in the team especially at the time of the season where we need to win games and not mess about with the team putting players who are not going to perform in.
