. . . on an Aberdeen Fans' website today that a certain Mr Riordan will be given a FREE transfer this summer and sign for a North East of Scotland Club. Apparently this came from someone who had been talking with a Mr O'Connor.

I would love to see Deeks back at E.R, but if that's not going to happen, the laddie need's to get away from Parkhead and try rebuild his career somewhere, so from that point of view it would be a good move for him, but I just cannae see them letting him move for free to another Scottish club.

I'd be surprised if the Wee Ginger Shite let him go on a free. He wasn't very agreeable to overtures from Hibs just a couple of months ago so I don't see that changing. In any event he will likely be away from Septic Park by then and a new manager will surely give Deek a chance to show what he can do.
If he was given a free then he will surely be back at ER. Hibs would pay as much as the Sheep and this is his spiritual (if not fiscal) home.

Wouldnae be a bad move for him tbh. Guaranteed a game every week, decent wages, good chance of getting back into the international set up if he does the damage, and he'd be loved by the sheep.

Would far rather he ended up back at Hibs, but fear that ship may have sailed once too often to now be possible in the short term.

If he is getting freed, however, Hibs should be able to better Aberdeen's wage and more. Yeah, the sheep done well in europe but we've raked in feckin millions the last couple of years.

If he's freed and ends up at another Scottish club then I'd be pretty gutted.

FWIW I think the "North East Scotland Club" mentioned is more likely to be Dundee United. The poster said Deek would never return to Hibs due to his alleged fall-out with our moustachioed leader. I'd like to think, however, that if Mixu wanted him hatchets would be buried etc etc.

Same applies. Although maybe he would consider Dundee Hibernian as a possibility... it's sort of a return to Hibs innit?

Anyhow, Hibs and Deek virtually agreed a loan deal until the Wee Ginger Shite changed his tune, so Rodders and Deek maybe aren't at daggers drawn anymore. Or not as much.

With Rodders moving away from the CX role I'd say if anything that made a Deeks return more rather than less likely.

Come off it! It would be a massive step up from Ellon United who have also been mentioned on this thread.

Could never work up much hatred for Nairn as they were usually pretty dire during the time I followed the Cans. Elgin were the team to hate but that rivalry has been knocked on the heid since they joined the SFL. Good to see they've made such a pig's arse of their league status though.

That leaves the fish shaggers of Lossie for a West Moray derby.

Might be a bit of a carrot for Deeks that, but could he handle the pressure?
