I still think it was right to play the game at hampden but it was one of "those", you know the game where hibs are beat before they step on the park, the fact we didn't sell enough tickets didn't bother me - the fact that everyone seemed to know we were about to get cuffed did....fecking gretna in the final too.!

Can't believe it's two years since that fateful day. I took a three hour round trip from Girona to Barcelona in order to watch the game on the telly. Somehow I got KO time mixed up and arrived during the second half, just in time for the second goal.

fortunately have virtually no memory of that feckin game, went through the night before and ended up at some club then a party all night with some weedgie art school birds, taxi back to the euro hostel to collect overnight bag in time for the bar opening back of 0900, full of Hibbies

Felt we had little to no chance stepping into the stadium then knew it was game over when the scoreboard showed Malkowski was starting.

One of those games it didn't feel as bad as it should've as you were expecting it anyway.

We started that game much the better team and looked like we were going to score. From what i remember they hit us on the break to open the scoring with their first attempt,we huffed and puffed after that but you could visibly see the heads went down.Dont forget we had a vitual reserve team out that day and from the minute the team was announced you could see everyones reaction was a negative one.If ever there was a time when the team needed the fans to get behind them that was it and it just did'nt happen.I'm not having a dig at the guys who were there as it was a quite unique experience, quite surreal and hard to describe, but i am having a dig at the absent fans, and if you had a genuine reason for not going you are excused, but the rest of them who would've been at the final had we made it, should be ashamed of themselves for abandoning the team in their hour and a half of need.

I stayed in the euro hostel as well! The bar was bouncing on the Sunday morning with hibs tunes being played at full blast IIRC. I think I was onto shots of Sambuca before finally getting a taxi to the game. Apart from the match, it was a decent weekend. Likewise, my memories of the game itself are sketchy. After the match I walked about halfway back to Queen Street via a couple of pubs, then got a taxi. Had to put up with muchos stick from scumbos on the train back to Edinburgh

The thing that got me was the lack of amosphere when I arrived at Hampden. It was as if the fans had accepted defeat before the team ran out. I really think we failed to play our part as fans that day. It was a cup semi final. We ought to have roared our team on regardless of who was wearing the famous green and white jersey.

It was incredibly flat. A gunt mate watching on telly text me before kick off to say "You're manager is making his excuses and the games not started yet..".

It wasn't Mogga's finest hour either.

I suspect a JC side wouldn't lose 4-0 in a semi to a pub team...

Ohhh controversial!

TBH I looked at the team that day, the sale of O'Connor prior to the game, no Riordan or Killen and Some canute called Benji starting. Then looked at the fans and knew it wasnt going to happen. The gunts were playing well.
