Club marketing - all gone quiet on the Eastern front

Since Colin McNeill left it has to be said our club has seemed to go backwards in terms of marketing. I am really struggling to think when we last saw something high profile or even lower profile that has obviously been a club attempt at selling us to the community or nation?

Looking back now at McNeill's tenure at the club - what a decent job the fella did.

The reason I ask is that there has been nothing so far, that I am aware of, promoting next year's STs. There has been no indication of when or how or how much. There have been no wee advertising snippets to whet the appetite or talk of new strip launches...nothing, zilch, nowt?

Tomorrow is the start of April and I have no idea when our ST sales will start - in previous seasons they were well marketed and information was out there on billboards, adverts and mail shots by now?

Maybe the uncertainty of the whole new East stand thing is the reason? They should be doing something though seems a bit odd to just completely ignore the issue.

Certainly the east stand rumourmill is in overdrive and would be a reason why the news about ST's has been delayed. In past seasons the ST literature had been posted out by April.

Out of general interest, What would be the procedure if they knocked down the east. Surely they would not have it all finished by the start of the new season. Would we get put into the south and miss out on cat A games or the likes?? Obviously we decided to play at Easter road when the west got knocked down, this was a bit be4 my time. What actually happened to the ST holders??

Moved to the South.

I can't see any way they could realistically have this done in a suitable timescale for next season tbh. The terracing is not a free standing structure like the old main stand was, it is a solid chunk of earth same as both ends were. Takes a lot more time to get that knocked down and cleared...

Only way that I could see it being done would be if they asked for our last 2 or three games to be away from home this season, and the first two or three next season to also be away. That would give around 4 months and that would be seriously tight for getting it finished. A lack of seats would mean a lack of STs available which would not please Petrie.

might be a bit cynical of me but our ST's were announced last year very soon after the CIS win therefore tapping into the wave of success. I reckon theyll wait to see if we get into Europe before announcing anything.

Last year it was possibly a bit of the above but more likely the ST pay up system where you started paying up your STs in April through to the end of July.

Leaving it tight this year if they want to offer the same provision - which they would probably foolish not to.

And is it just me or is everyone sick of the fact that every other big club in Scotland seems to have branched out shopwise and yet we still have to trail to easter road to get everything ,except maybe the odd out of date stock, what is it 3 shops in Edinburgh for hearts merchandise? We should be capitalising on our popularity in this city and making it easier for those at opposite ends of Edinburgh

Re: Club marketing - all gone quiet on the Eastern front

Me and my mates where considering buying ST in the east for next season, and I said I would try to organise it all. Have to admit I'm getting a bit worried by not hearing anything from the club
