A friend of mine who works for the Fire Brigade was on an inspection visit to E.R this week.Someone high up on the need to know ladder(no pun intended),had intimated that the new stand could be almost ready for the start of next season.There has been no announcement about a start date,because of uncertainty about top six fixtures.The guy also stated that it would almost certainly be a copy of the existing west stand,but without corporate facilities or any other internal functions.Basically an empty shell.If this is true so, much for fan consultation on other possible designs for our new stand.Also with the imminent closure of Meadowbank, an opportunity exists to build a fitness suite, and other leisure facilities into any new stand.This would bring in extra revenue for hfc,whil'st also maintaining an involvement with the local community.I'm pretty sure st mirren did this when they built thier new stand a few years ago.
