Surely not, why not keep him for another 2/3 and get roughly the same amount as you would selling him this summer. The fee will decreae but not significantly.

Re: Interview with Fletch

Pure guesswork on my part, but I reckon we'll get another season or at least 6 months out of him yet.

Although the Setanta interview answers were faily cliched, he usually comes across as a fairly articulate, intelligent young chap. I'm sure he can see what happened to Riordan, and Gow or K.Miller, for example, before him. Bang in a few with the team that everyone in Europe knows produces Scotland's new talent and get a decent move instead

Don't think K Miller has done too badly having bounced around a few clubs his bank balance must be very healthy and for his lack of medals his international career has worked out as well he might have expected playing for Scotland.

And his move to the huns was as conductive to this as wood is to electricity, surely ?!

I don't know. The list of Scottish OF not-quite-what-they-wanteds who went south and did OK is fairly lengthy. I think a lot of young Scottish players who really want to play in England see the OF as a lucrative shop window. Expect the likes of Deeks, Broony and Whitty to join them. O'Connor at least had the decency to pass through Russia.

Name them, my fellow, kinda, Wicker! Seriously, it's not a long list.

Brown's stalling and his lack of finishing ability is going to seriously limit him. No way the EPL will touch him.

Whitty? Hmmpp, maybe, I doubt it.

Deeks. Should have. He's ruined what he had. He's gotta pull it round quikly. I suggest ER to do it? I think he's f#cked too.

G'OC? We got premium for him too. A poser, nothing more or less.

Petrie's genius my man, a f#ckin genius. Fletcher on a 5yr contract, you don't say?

Tell me where Petrie went wrong?

Re: Interview with Fletch

While I agree Fletcher is an immense talent, he is not, yet, as good a player as Deeks or even Miller.

He is far too one footed and while that foot is indeed special, he will never be a top level player until he can finish with both.

I feel the move Fletcher wants, when he is ready, is to Englandshire. At the moment there is no Premiership team he would get near the bench for. He may get into a championship team squad.

He reminds me a lot of Kevin Harper, a player we all felt had a big future but sadly never really reached the heights we hoped for him.

While I hope Fletcher stays with us for at least another season and enhances his reputation while improving his game, deep down I feel he end up another one of these "what happend to ?" players.

Have to say one of the most disappointing aspects of Fletch being in the Scotland squad is that Deeks should be there, and no matter who he left us for he is still one of the best and most naturally gifted finishers produced in Scotland in the last decade.

IMO Fletch has the potential but is not yet at a level above Hibs never mind Scotland level.
Deeks is a tragic tragic waste of talent.

He's only 20 though! Not many English 20-year-olds get near a premiership bench never mind Scottish. There is defenatly something special about Fletcher or he wouldn't have one of, if not the biggest club in the world looking at him regularly.

I hope he's at Hibs for around another 2 seasons then I reckon we'll get around £5m from a top half English club.

If we get an offer of around £4 Million in the summer Petrie will not gamble.

What if Fletch picked up a serious injury next season?

We'll cash in. To be honest i probably wouldn't have any difficulty with us doing so as long as we get full market value and reinvest a realistic proportion back in the team.

You're 100% correct.

However, agents really don't care if a player is ready or not. They are there to make as much money, as quickly as possible. Fletch
