Merouane Zemmama took a knock in Wednesday's night’s 1-0 win over Motherwell at Easter Road, but the Moroccan midfielder is expecting to be ready to face Kilmarnock on Saturday.

Zemmama is determined to do all he can to help Hibernian towards UEFA Cup qualification, insisting that Hibernian having fought their way back into a challenging position, must now make the most of the opportunity starting with another three points on Saturday.

Talking exclusively to Hibernian Interactive's 'Talk Hibs' weekly on-line video magazine, Zemmama said: "The game on Wednesday was a very important one, if we won the three points it could give us a big chance at getting third place this season, and that is what we did. Now we need to keep that momentum going and win again when Kilmarnock visit. We know that there is a chance of Rangers and Celtic competing in the Scottish Cup final and that could give us an added chance at the UEFA Cup, but we need to keep winning our games."

The arrival at Easter Road of former Killie striker, Colin Nish, has provided Hibernian with a formidable partnership in attack, and Zemmama is pointing out that his fellow Moroccan Abdessalam Benjelloun is now ready to provide another attacking option into the pot.

Zemmama added: "Benji is coming back now and looking stronger, and we have Colin and Steven who are very good strikers, so we are now looking good in that department and could get a lot of goals from our strikers. Colin has done particularly well since he came to us and I'm sure he would like to score against his old team on Saturday - but I'm hoping to get on the scoresheet myself, but it is more important that we win the three points."

Agreed, absolutely wasted space but I guess HI have to provide "scoops" like that to keep the punters happy.
