Setanta Rangers Reserves...

(Kinda Hibs content) Do they still show their reserve games even if they get horsed 5-1 from Hibs? Or is it a case of put on what the bluenoses WANT to see ?

So that'll be three offside goals and two breakaways all against the run of play.

Re: Setanta Rangers Reserves...

Missed the first 15 minutes or so including Hibs first goal which was shown anyway in a replay..

I have to say that several of these young lads look potential first team material, particularly Curtis Byrne whose second goal (Hibs 5th) was fantastic technique. Lee Currie's volley would be a candidate for reserve goal of the season, and I thought big Patrick Deane looked good although a bit short of pace.

I have been saying for ages that Clayton Donaldson needs a run playing regular reserve football to build his confidence up as I still believe he has the potential to be a very good player for Hibs. His running off the ball and pace caused Rangers loads of problems and he took his penalty well.

I thought overall that there wasn't that much between the teams, Rangers had more posession but Hibs were far more clinical in the last third. Great to see though, and 5-1 hammering of that mob at any level is well worth savouring.

Re: Setanta Rangers Reserves...

You have to hand it to 'Flash Harry' as this was a reserve match in front of 25 people and the posuer wore a pair orange boots in the first half and then made a switch to the silver ones in the second half.

and gave fat arse Webster a torrid time.

On the subject of attire Andy McNeil really took the game seriously by wearing a pair of trackie bottoms obviously following in the steps of the grate (spelt correctly) Billy Thompson ex of St Mirren.

Stevenson can't be happy though

He was competent at full back but playing this postion means he is a long way from getting past both Hanlon and Zarabi and must wish he was back playing in midfield where Hibs are desperately short of players.

Great goals from Hibs and lots of positive performances and it will be interestsing to see where Mixu goes with the young players as JC tended to overdue it and play them well before they were ready whereas the Mixu so far has went to the other extreme and has bumped them from the team with only Hanlon having any sort of regular game.

Re: Setanta Rangers Reserves...

I seen a bit of it and as soon as I seen Stevenson I thought jeez, a year ago he was putting in a man of the match performance in a national cup final and now look at him, cant imagine how he feels. You can still see his ability though even when watching that.
