Rep Power: 16 TattooedHibee has a spectacular aura about
Willie Collum

He was having a good game up until he didn't allow advantage to play on with Fletcher through, roughly 60minutes. Then it was just a series of errors from there on in.

Not showing authority on where play should restart from.
Not booking Porter in the second half when he stated to him no more fouls in the first half towards the East.
Booking Murray for his first foul which wasn't deliberate
Not liasing with his linesman in the error in giving Hibs a free kick when Morais actually dived.
Evening things up shortly after this error when the ball went into the box where a non-existant foul was given to Motherwell.
Having booked Murray wrongly earlier having to send him off and not allowing common sense in a game that didn't have one bad challenge.

and a few more minor wrongs. 60minutes of good refereeing and 34minutes of shïteness.

Re: Willie Collum

I didn't mind him not booking players, until he booked Murray. At that point there had been worse tackles from both sides which had went unpunished. If it was for persistent fouling (I can only mind one other foul he had given away) then how could he not have booked Porter who he pointed out three fouls to in the first half and then he gave away another couple in the second.

And while I was a bit pillared for their penalty shout, I thought it was probably a good claim going by the players and crowds reaction.

He also barely played advantage at any point, not just the Fletcher one.

Not the worst ref we've had this season imo, but the usual complaint of inconsistency is still the thing which completely pisses people off.

Re: Willie Collum

Agree.

Thought he was having a good game first half - he let things flow and was barely noticed, which is usually a good sign!

Then he lost it from their penalty claim onwards.

From where I was sitting it looked a definite penalty.

The not playing advantage when Fletch was away, and then not even booking the player was the next in a string of baffling and annoying decisions.

For Murray to end up sent off in a game with few bad tackles and no other bookings (at that point) was crazy.

I kind of understood why he gave the first booking (Murray deliberately committed the foul to stop the guy being away) but to say that was the worst foul up to that point (which he was by giving his first booking and it wasn't for persistant fouling) was dubious to say the least.

Inconsistency yet again, but he's was by no means the worst ref I've seen this season. Not by a long chalk.

From the back of the FFS at the other end I thought it was a fair claim ...

I think I would have been shouting for it if it was Hibs...

Re: Willie Collum

I think you also missed out...

Murray nipping in front of defender and knocking the ball behind...

to be awarded a bye kick...

and a Barry Ferguson style moment when Nish used his hand to push the ball neatly into his path to run through into the inside left position

Collum was supposed to be one of the rising stars of Scottish refereeing... but from what I have seen he still has a way to go before he can be given the most important games..

I don't think I would really blame the ref for Murray's sending off, It is typical that a ref trying to let things go and not book players will then lose patience and book a player for a lesser offence than what has gone before...

I just think it was unlucky Ian was sent off for his one bad foul

A rising toxic fart through a pile of shite may be the correct analogy...

He wasn't the worst we've had this season imo. But that's a bit like trying to cheer someone up by saying at least it's a brain tumour and it isn't as bad as AIDS.

Two Hibs games reffed, two harsh red cards given.
