Totally agree it seems to be a hobby for a lot of Hibs fans to slag off Kerr, okay he never sets the heather on fire but I do not believe that he is as bad as some of you make out. Maybe people should look at the bigger picture and look at our SUPERSTARS such as Boozy (when he is bad he is awful) Benji(really does believe he is in the superstar bracket) and Murphy (although quite consistent but is prone to having a bad game like yesterday) I am not saying that these players should be slagged of openly as everyone has a bad day at the office just that IMO the bile dished out to Brian Kerr is really unacceptable.
No hes worse than alot of us make out....we have tried to wait and see if he got any better but he has got worse and worse every game that comes by.....he doesn't no how to pass a ball forward there is no point playing like Neil Lennon when its not working.

The only reason Stevenson is shite is because he has been played out of position and Kerr has alot more bad games than Stevenson who i think holds alot of promise as a player....just look back to the CIS Cup final and his MOTM performance.
I think there are a few in ER doing just that TBH!

He's been dining out on that game for a while now.

It wasn't just that game tbf. He was exceptional for months last season.

Players always seem to toil a bit in their second season, and the injury he picked up at the start of the season hasn't helped, but he really hasn't lived up to last season so far. A bit of patience with him will work wonders though. He needs to work through the bad spells. Fletcher was pretty pish last season, but look at the difference with him this year...

FWIW I thought Stevenson played pretty well against Dundee Utd last week. Wasn't spectacular but dug in, and rarely lost the ball. Bowfing yesterday obviously but hardly alone with that...

Agreed, but unfortunately we're not strong enough to allow so many players to play through a 'bad spell' especially one which has lasted so long. Stevenson has sat out this Season, Kerr has not! There must be guys desperate to get back into the team e.g Ross Chisholm.

I'd actually say that both LS and McCann need to step out of the limelight for a couple of games and have the luxury of playing there way back into form with either the reserves or their own peer group. However our complete lack of talent in depth(or at least same level of mediocrity) prevents that, the result is 2 very young players getting the confidence drained from them on a weekly basis

Re: Brian Kerr!!!!!!!!!

The criticism young Lewis is getting is feckin ridiculous..

He's a young laddie FFS. He broke through when JC arrived and gave us a superb CIS Cup Final performance. IMO he had an even better game v The Huns at ER at the tail end of last season.

Unfortunately he's not having a great year. IMO that's down to the expectation levels being far too high.

A lots expected of him by the supporters because he's a regular. JC plays him as a regular. Perhaps he's wrong to do so? Perhaps though he's no real option?

Again it's back to the board...

We have so little reinvestment of the Rollover Lottery Winning transfer fees generated that we have to rely on a feckin young laddie...

Good post. These young lads have gone backwards by being overplayed and in McCanns case being played in various positions before hes had the chance to get enough first team experience in the full back role.

We had a six foot plus German under 21 international centre half on the bench in the shape of Jonty and yet JC played McCann at centre half

Anyone got any idea why ?

As for Kerr while the team were collectively anonymous yesterday hes been personally anonymous all season apart from a couple of minutes at Tynie.

PS just seen specific Jonty thread , didnt mean to hijack this one away from Brian Kerr.

agree totally but stevenson is not the problem,mc cann it seems is just as undroppable as kerr in jc's eyes, cant have helped putting him at cb yesterday.how many goals we going to lose from set plays.

to finish im a big hogg fan,but his rash challenges and giving free kicks away at edge of box and us losing goals from them are now weekly.

Exactly LS is a young player who is still developing and i have watched games this season where he has dont extremely well but he does keep getting switched into different positions this season which could also be something to do with his performances on the pitch....

People seem to be slating a player who is young and has a great future ahead we should be getting behind him as what a great young prospect we have in young Lewis just goes to show when we have a bad game we slate players who are actually not as bad as made out to be.

Who would people on here play instead of LS? Hes not as bad as people make out think people need to get off his back and get behind the team next game make a atmosphere to show we are behind every player on the pitch even if we think they are crap.

I think the point Mandy is that Stevenson is being overplayed and that he probably needs a wee break from the rigours and pressure of first team football. I havent read anyone denying he is a talented youngster but perhaps its all too much too soon for him and a week or two in the reserves may get his batteries recharged. Fukk it, maybe even give him a week off as well why the hell not.

If i was JC i'd be tempted to quietely tell him to bugger off in the sunshine for a month along with a diet and fitness structure.

I'd also do the same with Fletcher...

Re: Brian Kerr!!!!!!!!!

the whole team was rank against the sheep, and Kerr was by no means the worst. McCann (fair enough he was out of position), Murphy, Stevenson, Boozy and all three subs were worse than Kerr. Even Hogg was poor, and he's had an outstanding season so far

You would get rid of our biggest goal threat for a month during which we still have 5 games including both the OF, only 2 home games, and it's when we are currently in third place?

Have a fucking word with yourself Smurf. Fletcher is the last player who currently should be getting a rest. He played up front himself against Utd and ran their defence into the ground, continually caused them problems and was still looking pretty sharp towards the end. You never even watched the fucking game on Sunday so you've no idea how he played. Well he was pretty shite, but given the service he got nout more than you would have expected.

Stevenson it might be justificable to give a couple of games off to, since he isn't playing particularly well. Fletcher? Get a grip.
