Johnny Collins for me. For our younger supporters who didn't see him you missed out on a fantastic footballer.

Jings, you must be older than I thought!

The only one I didn't see playing was Willie Ormond.

I went for George Best as he was Simply The Best.

Re: Hibernian Hall Of Fame - Left Midfield/Left Wing - Vote Now!

Went for JC although Michael O'Neill was a favourite of mine at the time.

Now, if we could only get the best out of a certain other ex-Newcastle left-winger...

Re: Hibernian Hall Of Fame - Left Midfield/Left Wing - Vote Now!

Loved watching O'Neil, my type of player, looked a right lazy bastard but he had plenty skill...dont think he's a hall of famer though.
Is JC a left winger or a left-footed central midfielder? I think centre mid for JC, I like 2 proper touchline hugging players on the wings
Is Derek Riordan a winger or a centre forward who drifts out?I think he's a centre forward who drifts out, but i think he'll have difficulty getting a game up front in a hall of fame team considering the strikers we've had over the years, so I'm gonna go for Deeks, the best goalscorer I've seen play for Hibs.

Mind you, you must still be of "a certain vintage" if you can remember Eric Stevenson too!

Re: Hibernian Hall Of Fame - Left Midfield/Left Wing - Vote Now!

Very difficult.
If it was an 'out and out' winger, then it would be Nijinsky without a doubt.

Once you include left sided players a bit more generally, like Cropley and Collins, and one who didn't want to play there - like Deek........ it becomes impossible.

So I'll stick with a 'left winger'.

For the avoidance of doubt, anything stated in the above post is written without prejudice; is probably completely uninformed opinion, and possibly just a figment of my imagination. Readers should either ignore, treat with contempt, or simply accept the spirit it is written in, without recourse to huffy replies, legal action or threats of violence.
That includes YOU.

I have heard it say that Gordon Smith in his pomp was a match for anyone.Anyway, it doesnt matter, Bestie was well past his prime when he surfaced at Hibs and doesnt merit being mentioned in any Hibs hall of fame imo

Stevenson played throughout the 60s and into the very early 70s so the Doc for example would have been around 30-35 perhaps when ES was in his flying prime at the San Siro, strange he hasnt mentioned seeing him

I was probably about 7 or 8 when I saw him first and about 15 when he stopped playing. Actually, come to think of it I was 17 when we humped, i'll just say that again, humped the corgis 7 brussel so yep that would be about right. As you say, a certain vintage
