Nope.

He's not particularly quick, he's not strong, he doesn't hold the ball up well, and he's not a great user of the ball when he has it. He is a half decent finisher, and he wins a lot of free kicks by falling over very easily. If he was asked to do the same role as MAC he wouldn't be capable of doing it.

If he wasn't a Hibby you'd be lucky if anyone would want to sign him.

Shows the level we're at though with our wage cap...

IMO this level is not realistic to challenge for top 3..

Think I'm right in saying he has started every game for Killie this season? 4 goals from 14 games. As their main striker. No bad by any means, but hardly prolific. He's scored 50 goals in 200 league games over his entire career. If he had that average with Hibs he would get 9 or 10 goals if he was playing in every single league game.

He might actually get more goals for Hibs than MAC would, but I would reckon that we'll score more goals with MAC playing than we would with Nish if that makes sense.

Re: Nish V MAC

Whilst I would agree that Colin Nish is no world-beater, he is a proven SPL goalscorer in a side which most people would consider to be not as good as Hibs. I don't think he is particularly good in the air for his height, but he has other strengths to his game. He can finish for one thing, and link up well with other players. I like Curier's attitude and he seems to want to succeed, however from what I have seen so far he appears to be quite a limited player. I think he can do an important job for the team in the time he is here, but I don't think we are going to get many goals from him. I would probably go for Nish ahead of Curier if only for the fact that Nish has shown he can score regularly in the SPL.

'Flash Harry' or MAC were signed for potential rather than as proven goalscorers and so far neither have delivered though have both have had limited games/chances and while MAC's attitude is good

and 'Flash Harry's' is OK neither seem to be able to lead the line that well or link up with the midfield or the other strike partner.

Nish does however score goals albeit not a lot and he links up the play well and it is hard to see why there is outright hostility

to him signing for Hibs as he is a decent and proven SPL striker.

Antoine-Curier offers you alot more than Nish. It isn't just about goals in the role both are asked to play at their respective clubs.

Hibernia is on the way to a first team debut
Re: Nish V MAC

In my opinion I think Nish would be quite a good signing for us. He certainly has done alright in an average Killie side (15 goals or thereabouts overall last season I believe). Id like to think with better players around him at ER he would score a few for us and the fact that he is a Hibs fan would be IMO.

Ive nothing against MAC because he has impressed me with some of his play so far but it just strikes me that we are not going to get a lot of goals out of him and I think with a fully fit Benji and Fletcher and Donaldson about that MAC may find himself sitting warming the bench or in the reserves more often than not.

I think though I would gamble and sign Nish in Jan on a pre contract.

I've not noticed anyone on here talking about Clayton Donaldson's boots, attitude or his performances apart from you?

as 'Flash Harry' strolls around training and outside Easter Road thinking he is a self made football superstar and his 'pop star' 'bidie in' gets herself quoted with some nonsense about them being the next 'Posh and Becks'.

If he produces the goods then of course he can act as if he is 'Didier Drogba' and she can be the 'Queen of Sheba' but I want a little more return for £120,000 a year and a £75,000 signing on fee than being marked out of the St Mirren game by 92 year old Andy Millen.

Hibs: Nish for Easter Road?

Hibs are being linked with a move for Kilmarnock striker Colin Nish in January. The big target man is out of contract at Rugby Park at the end of the season and has rejected Killie's first contract offer. He'd be available for a nominal fee when the transfer window reopens.

Re: Nish V MAC

nish by a mile.

i would take him at easter road in a min, also he would love to play for us.

Am not just saying that cause he is one of my mates, i think he is 10 times better that Mac as he hold the ball up better and links play up well and most importantley can score goals.i have watching him play for killie afew times playing other premier teams and he always seems to play well. if fact if he doesnt play well killie dont noremally play well

Re: Nish V MAC

Nish is a gazillion times better than Curier. I like Curier's workrat and he is very determined to play for us but I think Nish is far better. He bullies Jones every time he plays against him. MAC is the poor man's Nish.
