We battered them that night and did not deserve to only win 1-0. Coming back from 2-0 down away was too much of a mountain to climb.
My first trip to see Hibs on the continent of Europe as the away leg coincided with the october school holidays. Changed days from now, there was only one supporters bus that went I believe which left the clubrooms on the Sunday night before the match.

Strasbourg were top of the French league when Hibs played them. We should have gone through but missed too many chances at Easter Road. This was the game when Jackie McNamara and Ally McLeod apparently had a "set-to" in the dressing room at half-time.
A further 11 years passed before Hibs played in Europe again, against Videoton.
