E.Lothian hibee is on the way to a first team debut
SAD John Collins

BBC say hes been linked with the move to bolton to fill in that managerial position, their are about 4 other possible targets ahead of collins as bookmaker's odd's, however i think they would look at a man like Collins as he is a manager looking forward and always full of ambition, would be awful timing for hibs if this move was to somehow materialise, what are all your thoughts on the bounce?

Re: John Collins

im sceptical that bolton would take a risk on a near enough untrained manager so soon after getting rid of sammy lee, what they need is a steady hand. could collins give them that?

Re: John Collins

Collins will fulfil his contract at Hibs no doubt about it and i am sure there will be alot more clubs looking at JC over the remainder of his contract.

This from the BBC that had Paul 'I want to slash my wrists' Mitchell commentating on last nights Scotland game with analysis from good Hibby Craigie 'what's it like to be a hun?' Paterson.

Both based over in Georgia at the License payers expense. Nothing wrong with that..

But why did the same Public Broadcaster waste THOUSANDS of POUNDS by having a different commentary team of Jonathan Pearce and Craig Brown over in Georgia for 10 minutes of highlights to be shown all over the UK on Match Of The Day?

Obviously the English can't quite stomach Paul 'I know i'm a Jambo but surely that alone doesn't explain my absolute gloom' Mitchell and i know how they feel..

However, on the day they announce BILLIONS of Pounds of cuts in programming...

Re: John Collins

I would be amazed if a club that has been fighting for Champions League places in the EPL for the last few seasons will take a risk on appointing an SPL manager with just 12 months managerial experience as the solution to their sudden drop towards the wrong end of the league.

Equally, if it was to happen, I'd be stunned if Collins refused it - jobs like that don't come around too often for SPL managers.

Re: John Collins

I admit it is very far fetched because ther'll be hundreds of better, more experienced managers out their willing to take that job ahead of collins. But if the BBC has shortlisted him in with the other 5 or so, and with QPR sniffing around last week, Collins may be in a position to leave, the thing i dont understand however is the fact that mowbray did a fantastic job and it took him over 2 years to just get to a championship team, never mind exactly a year to get to the premiership! i like collins he seems like a great manager for hibs and i definatly think, once hes got all the tactical issues sorted (hopefully this season!), that he could lead us back into europe and maybe on a consistant basis!, something i knew Mowbray would'nt be capable of achieving, he has pledged to us that he wont go anywere and that he will serve his contract but the thing that gets me......he has said certain players wouldnt be going anywere and look what happend! hes a great guy though....

Yep, still clubless. But with £25M in his back tail, not desperate enough to take the Bolton job!

Re: John Collins

Collins' Bolton link is dismissed
Hibernian manager John Collins
John Collins has already rejected an approach from QPR
Hibernian assistant Tommy Craig has insisted there is no truth to reports linking boss John Collins with the vacancy at Bolton Wanderers.

Collins has led his side to second spot in the Scottish Premier League, where they are the only unbeaten side left.

But Craig told BBC Sport: "These things do tend to crop up if you are doing well and people see you doing well with the resources we have got.

"But we have got to concentrate on what lies ahead and that's Motherwell."

Premiership outfit Bolton are searching for a new manager after Sammy Lee left this week after a poor start to the season.

Give your reaction to reports linking John Collins with Bolton

And Collins, who led his side to victory in the CIS Insurance Cup final in his first season in charge, has already turned down an approach from Championship outfit QPR this campaign.

The former Celtic, Everton and Monaco midfielder said at the time that he would not break his contract, which has another season to run.

"I was given a disdainful look by John this morning when I went in and went 'Bolton'?" said Craig.

"He looked at me as if to say I should have known better and I should know better, because it's pure speculation as far as we are concerned

Pearce and Brown did the commentary for the live coverage shown on the BBC in England. Lineker, Hansen and Moyes were in the studio. What an absolutely scandalous waste of public money.
