Motherwell game bigger than the huns game?

I think that if we are to really show something as a team, which is showing itself to be better than recent Hibs teams then we must win at Fir Park. We have beaten the OF which is great and only a little unexpected, but we must beat the rest. Often we have got a good result only to have it undone by not being up for the next game against lesser opposition. I would say Motherwell, for me, have looked the best side we have played so far and the only ones to record a victory. They are a team who are going to bombard our defence and we - team and fans - have to be really up for this one, not simply expect us to roll over them.

I think also the OF games fell very nicely for us on the back of them travelling abroad and hopefully they will drop more points due to CL games. For our part we must win as they slip up. The longer we go undefeated the more other teams will try to be the first to beat us. I am sure JC is up for that challenge I hope the players and fans are.

Vinster,

I'm fairly sure that the recent CIS defeat will rule out any complacency.

Avast there HibbyP, I couldnt agree more, if that defeat at the hands of murderwell doesnt inspire the team to victory then I dont know what will. We did have a bit of an off night that night but tbf to them they played pretty well in patches. We have the ammo to upset them so heres hoping the team goes out there all flintlocks blazing to put the fekkers in their place. How dare they beat the mighty Hibees.

Re: Motherwell game bigger than the huns game?

It is another big game. The huns were very lucky to come away from there with a point. It will not be easy, they showed in the cup game and at other times they can play. Like Hibs under Mowbray they appear to be inconsistant. One thing is for sure they will be up for our visit.

If we can take three points on the same weekend the infirm are playing each other it will be another massive weekend for us.

Here's hoping.

Re: Motherwell game bigger than the huns game?

I would have hoped that we would be better prepared for this game given what happened to us in the CIS Cup. The players should be fired up to win for revenge as much as anything else. We need to get our tactics right on the day and if we do we have a decent chance of winning.

Re: Motherwell game bigger than the huns game?

I would agree Motherwell look like the best side we've played so far. Also, lets not overdo the complacency in the CIS game - there was a degree of it but Motherwell beat Hibs that night, rather than Hibs beating Hibs.

What complacency there was will be gone however, so hopefully we can enter the game confident but not complacent.

Its a tough one, certainly one where I'd not be dissapointed with a draw. If both teams are on form it also has the potential to be by far the best game of the season so far.

Re: Motherwell game bigger than the huns game?

While I'm gutted we wont be deffending our cup anymore, maybe it's a good thing and I'm sure JC will remind the players a good few times what happenend that night. We have a good record at Fir Park and if we can keep it going, then have 2 home games, we could be in a very good position. The next few games will determine whether there was an "old" Hibs.

Re: Motherwell game bigger than the huns game?

In many ways it's every bit as important as the Rangers game . Yes we get great satisfaction/press from beating the huns at Ibrox but it's the same number of points whoever we beat!! Also, traditionally we have a poor result after a "so called big result" , so it would prove a lot of the doubters wrong if we could win at Fir Park. More importantly it keeps the "run" going and the players confidence high.

Re: Motherwell game bigger than the huns game?

If you want to win anything, the next game is always the biggest game. I think Motherwell's performances justify more points than they have, while we've ridden our luck at times. This game will be very evenly balanced and JC needs to get his tactics spot on (unlike the CIS). So let's get behind the team especially if the going gets tough.
