I thought he did an alright job at the back in the first half, but when he was back to midfield in the 2nd half he was immense.

Always available for the pass, strong on the ball, great vision and not afraid to get stuck in. Quality. I know he makes the occasional mistake but he always works extremely hard to win it back and invariably does. A very important player for us.

Am I right that his contract is up at the end of the year? If so, we should get him tied up for a good few years yet.

The other stand-outs for me were:
Maka - solid, not at fault for either goal
Antoine - looks a great target man on this showing - strong with a deft touch.
Morais - sharp and lively. more of that please...
Jones - what a block - dominant force in the air
Hogg - no fuss. solid and reliable
Zemmama - always makes things happen - wish we could get 90 minutes like that out of him

All in all, a very satisfying afternoon at ER!
