May of been posted: Are they not allowed to play football during ramadam or some pish? They were sorely needed on Saturday so whats the script?

They are allowed to play football. They are not allowed to eat or drink from sunrise to sunset for the duration of the fasting period. Other muslims go to work as normal, although all the nae eating, drinking and mixed up eating habits do have an affect.

Yeah just been discussing that aspect with a guy at work, muslims are apparently allowed to eat and drink for manual labour jobs i.e. sports... the boxer khan seemingly is immune and can eat and drink to his hearts content when training, this goes on for 40 days too so again back to my first question whats the script? Are they not going to be played for 40 days?

The manager talks about it here, seems sensible to keep them on the bench on Saturday but they will be needed on Sunday.

i think benji and zemmama have to be invloved in future s games, fasting is not a big issue for muslim players, 4 moroccans have scored this weekend in different european leagues.even in the big team PORTO, the morrocan Tarik has participated for a half time. he did well.
JC should not break the players hope to play in next games by making ramadan as a reason.
as i said before, ramadan might be an advance for playing well.

Well he has already apparently as they are two of our better players and they were not used on Saturday, unless he is resting them before the Celtic game then i cannot understand it.

What do you mean exactly by ramadan may be an advance for playing well?

well, fasting during ramadan doesnt mean not eating or drinking and staying home or sleeping till sunset. ramadan required to be hard working to feel the need of god . as for players they dont like being in position of not getting involved in their professions. and all the muslim players are excited to participate and show that ramadan is not an obstacle in their jobs. that s why they try to give more and more. i hope to see zemmama and benji against celtic even for a half time.

Speaking to a friend of mine who is a muslim, I was told they as sportsmen can continue to eat and drink through ramadan, they then make it up to god during the close season, they must want to do it this way or their personal choice maybe to stick firmly to ramadan, in effect there is no reason for benji or zammama not to play during ramadam unless they choose not to.
