Great today.Admitedly Kerr gave him the freedom of Falkirk, but even so, the wee man really hasnt lost it.At the grand age of 39 I'd be delighted if he was still at Hibs.

A real pleasure to see him play, the only player on the park to get close to his class was David Murphy.

Agreed. Latapy is absolutely class and still one of the best midfielders in the SPL. I would be delighted if he was still at Hibs.

Even against teams such as Celtic and Rangers he controls the midfield and the big-money midfielders of Glasgow struggle to match him.

He oozes quality, and is the most skilful player I have ever seen at ER. Sauzee was the best but Latapy the most skilful without a doubt.

The guy is a genius. It was a great shame his time ended at Easter Road the way it did. As my better half pointed out earlier big Eck was still a young manager back then and might have handled Latas a bit better if he had been more experienced. In any event it was a great shame he left us but well done for him in sorting out his life and still being capable of turning it on aged 39.

Yep, still going strong at 39 is some going, especially in the engine room of the team, in a fast-moving and highly-paced league such as the SPL, where he can't relax at all. He also played at the world cup last summer which also shows how fit he is. All that and he still smokes 20 a day!

thats why their team is in the 1st division, cant point out a quality player to save themselves

Russell Latapy always had time on the ball today. It didn't matter what was going on around him, he was a step above anything else.

The man is a touch of class.

I'd go as far as to say he's THE best player seen in the SPL to date! To be honest i'd struggle to name a better one. Larsson or perhaps Ferguson, but Lataps has been playing since the SPL began and has been consistently amazing!

The only footballers on show yesterday were Russell Latapy and David Murphy. The trinidadian was MotM by the same distance between his carribean islands and Scotland.
