O'brian

Anybody else notice the fact that he seems to hide for large parts of the game!
There was time the day when he actually stodd still, whilst Murphy stood looking to thread the ball to him

Mate he was feckin gash, honestly.I'm all for giving players a chance but the signs are not good.

Granted he'll win you a few throw ins and corners but he doesn't do what a 'winger' is best at i.e getting past his man and putting in a cross. He was posted missing for most of the second half.Shat himself in every 50/50 challenge...i could go on but i wont.

The guy has the potential to be a great player for this club and i hope he proves me and the rest of his critics wrong.

Can't comment on his performance. Just wondering about another O'Brien thread, possibly should be merged with the MANY MANY other O'Brien threads

Re: O'brian

Absolutely Hopeless. Has he really got International Caps or was someone just winding me up with that???

Not interested at all, doesn't make eye contact with anyone, doesn't talk to anyone, doesn't look for the ball, doesn't shout for the ball, does nothing except run a few yards until he gets tackled.

As someone else rightly said, Ivan was a one trick pony but thsi guy is a no-trick donkey.

According to the radio commentator Obrien had a good game, showed a lot of pace and control and was hitting the byline only to find nobody to cross the ball to. Funny how different folks see different things.

I await the day the lad turns in a performance that the coaching staff believe he has in him and the reaction that will bring from many who have already seemingly written the young guy off.

There was one time he he got into a good position, but no one was in the box, the reason he was in sucha good position in the 1st place was the quality pass from Fletch, he had no one to beat, but since Fletch was a lone striker, the penatlty box was empty.

I hope this guy comes good, but right now, I would swap OBrien & Morias for Ivan.

Re: O'brian

I think its funny how we were amazed that we managed to sign O'Brien, but going on previous performances and several reviews of him yesterday, i think i would have been more happy with Ivan staying. Been said by myself before and plenty other bouncers, he just doesnt look interested at all.

what the hell does Deano have to do to get ahead of him, Deano creates and stands tall, Obrien hides and just generally gets on my nerves with lack of interest movement.

Re: O'brian

Totally disagree with most posted on this thread about his performance against the Bairns. I thought he was causing them all sorts of trouble flying down the left, won us corners and throw ins a plenty and put in a great cross for fletchers header that was well saved. It was when Collins switched the formation and put him in the middle when Joneleit came on (Either in the middle or a floating role either way it was a bad move by the coaching staff) that he dissapeared. It has to also be noted that when he was posted missing for the last 20 minutes there were MANY who also where and it was more because we sat back and let falkirk come and come and others were playing poorly thought passes forward when we could have hit on the break (mainly kerr I thought as he looked knackerd). Fans get on his back far too easily and I cant wait for the day that he proves them all wrong. He is more of a winger (which to me is someone who takes people on and drives to the byline) that Ivan was. He was more of a trickster.

We need to get off his back seriously

Fed up on commenting how gash this excuse for a player is!!!!

He can't beat a man, he's uninterested/posted missing for large parts of the game. And has no positional sense.

Re: O'brian

I'm sure enough comparisons have already been drawn at one stage or another re Sproule - O'Brien.

However, anyone else remember the early opinion on Sproule when he came on against Dundee United in the Semi Final a few years back?

Why not learn from that and give this guy a chance, hes not even played a half dozen games for Hibs yet and folk are already tearing into him

Re: O'brian

Never mind fretting over O'Brien, he's dire as simple as that. What's more concerning is that anyone with half a brain would play Deano ahead of him. Yet Johnny "the tinkerman" Collins won't!!!!

Should maybe have Shiels come out to play Celtic all on his own such is his legend amongst some supporters he will be able to win the game all on his own.
