New captain needed?

As a few others have been saying on other threads we need a captain who is committed to the club and Jones no longer falls into that category imo. Murphy? Good player and exemplary character but will he be around for more than 6 months? A year maximum I'd say. Boozy? Another of our longest serving players but seems like a quiet type in spite of the loud hair. I think I'd go for Hogg. Plays most weeks, has been around for a while and has recently committed to a long-term contract. Unlike Murphy, I can't see him being whisked off along the M8 or down south anytime soon.

Defo need new captain. get joneys on the bench see what his agent wants to come out and say next.. think the new boy Torben Joneleit will do great job for us with hogg at the back... new captain for me should be Hogg,

IF we need a new captain, I would agree that Chris Hogg is appears to be the most suitable for the job. He seems committed and I've noticed him doing the defensive organising in the last couple of games, guiding young McCann etc.

It's gotta be murphy for me, but yes he's not gonna be around for more than another season so that presents a problem. If not murph then boozy because I'm not sure I see Hoggy as captain material yet....maybe in a few years.

Murphy is the man for me. Although Lewis Stevenson is still very young he has to be looked at as a possibility, he never gives up and never really complains and i has seen glimpses of his being a natural leader for years to come.

if the team captain is going to change id like to see murphy , hogg or boozy giving the armband theyd be great leaders especailly for the youngsters who are in the 1st team and the ones who will break into the first team in the next season or so.

but this jones situation better get fixed asap its a joke that the club captain's agent has to do his talking , if jones isnt happy he should get the media and tell all the hibs fans out here that he isnt happy its a joke that his agent has to do stuff like that .

Hogg wouldn't be a bad choice but for me, it has to be Boozy. He has more experience and has captained us before. I think Collins has Hogg down for second choice at the moment because when Jones got injured against Gretna he handed the arm band to Hogg.

I would also vote Hogg........I havent been that impressed with Torben yet..but hey..he hasnt had much 1st experience..so what do I know

Agree with your choice of David Murphy for captain.

I think he would be great at the job, helping the younger players and also the fact that he gives nothing less than 100% effort when playing himself, the guy just about covers every blade of grass at Easter Road. He would be a good role model for Hibs younger players as well.

Definitely in my opinion, he has the ability to be captain of Hibs regardless of whether or not he moves on in 6 months/next season. If Jones does go soon, I personally will not miss him.

Agree with your thoughts on Murphy but it would be nice to think we had a Captain who was going to hang around for a couple of seasons.

I'd like to volunteer to be the next Hibs captain. It seems to guarantee you a job elsewhere with higher wages within six months. Now where did I put McCock's mobile number...........
