Mowbray offered quick new deals, Collins offers OF!!

Is this the way our managers are having to sell our club?

I am not against Collins dangling the OF carrott to players but getting a bit sick of agents moaning that they were offered a new deal after a year.

FFS Jones came from Grimsby as a nobody and is no better than average as a defender. IMHO he is captain by default due to no suitable alternatives.

If the issues are personal is that different from wanting a wage rise??

i think mowbray was at hibs for the short term get a faw players in that would do i job for him then move on to a bigger club.. said to Players like killen, jones, mikey that if they played well over the course of the season that he would offer them better deals. any thoughts??

Suspect wee Rod was aware of what Mowbray was offering. But as soon as Mogga was gone the Tache had a sudden case of the amnesia.

Jc wouldnae need to waste time looking for a player like Killen, if RP had opened the biscuit tin And signed Killen to a new deal with our ever growing funds!!!!

Neither Tony Mowbray or John Collins had/have the authority to offer/promise any increased pay deals to players. Let's get that myth out of the way. The manager is in charge of all team matters, the chairman and the board of directors handle wages and the financial affairs of the club. The manager can reccommend to the board whether or not he feels a player deserves an increase or an extended contract, but ultimately it is a matter for the board of directors to approve it.

There is a method to JCS madness if he is offering an OF carrot. He is basically offering 10 times a salary any player can ever hope for at ER. bizarre as it may seem.
