Re: benji in the list.

Zemmama is more than good enough for morocco, but in morocco corruption is very rampant in sports. To play for the NT you need to have more than just skills, you need to have connections with the FA, and take care of them if you know what I mean.

Did the Moroccon FA not ban him after he went to Saudi Arabia or Qatar, or something like that

Do you know if Benji(or Zemmama) is anywhere near getting a starting place in the full international squad sometime in the future.

The reason I am asking is that the Afican Nations Cup starts in January (to February) so teams throughout Europe are going to be without their star players for around a month and are likely as usual will kick up an arrogant and demeaning fuss as they find hard to believe that African players would want to represent their countries in the same way as anyone else does.

I'd imagine the best Morroccan strikers all play in France and Benji isn't really in the first tier of players but if he was somehow to make the squad it would be a great coup for Benji though it would be quite a problem for Hibs.

Please note if you want to create story that will be all over the Scottish newspapers then just say yes it is likely and the lazy scottish media who trawl fans websites for stories will splash 'Hibs to lose major star' all over the back pages before you can blink an eye.

It has been confirmed by a representative from the Morroccan FA (who will remain nameless) that Benji will play for the national team during the African Nations Cup

They must be a pretty corrupt lot as claimed by the Morroccon poster if they are that far advanced in their team selection.

A quick bit of research gives you a list of the current Morrocan international strikers who play for Anderlecht (Boussoufa), Bordeaux (Chamakh), Nancy (Hadji, not that one but his brother) and a Sparta Rotterdam player called Boukhari.

So it's not outwith the realms of possibilities that Benji will be in the squad for the African Nations Cup but it must be more of an outside bet rather than a racing certainty.

No am not sure benji will play with the first NT, he is focusing with the olympic squad to reach the olympic games in bejing 2008. about zemmama i am not sure he gonna join the NT too, bcos he hasnt a big experience in the african cups. well we just got a new coach few weeks ago. the french Henry michel. i think u in scotland remind him well, he was our coach when we beat scotland 3#0 in world cup98 . well hibs shudnt be worry about loosing the 2 players for the african nation cup.so there is nothing to write about it in the scottish newspaper.

thx mate for the research,u dont need to make a research bcos am here lol. well we have few great players like chamakh, boussoufa player of year2006 in belguim, also hadji who is doing a great start this season by scoring 2 goals . also boukhari is a gd player.Aloudi from RAJA he is quite gd as well... and many others.

ps : morocco has lost many moroccan players to european national teams like : boulahrouz (played to chelsea last year now playing to sevilla) playing to holland. and Affelay (psv eindhoven)playing to holland .also youness kabole and adel taarabt who play to tettenham they were grabed by french national team. and many others on the way. but no worries for benji playing to scotland lol

we have a wonderful squad in the olympic team too we all rely on them : benji (hibs) el zhar ( liverpool) Rabeh and benzoukane re playing in belgaria to lefski sofia... and many many other players. to remind u they were the 4th in the world cup of holland2005.
