Bounce POTY suggestion - HibeesBounce.com

Just a thought:

Instead of everyone voting for their Bounce POTY at the end of the season, how about a section where members award points out of 10 to each player after each game? Might be difficult to set up but I'm sure a man of Jamie's calibre could do it. That way, we'd get a regular update on how voting is going and I think we'd also have a more accurate reflection on members' opinions as opposed to casting one vote at the end of the season when one particular player might have had a great spell.

We're only one game into the season and player performances from Monday are still fresh in most peoples' minds so it could be backdated to then.

Jamie, Owen ye able to set this up? Itsa cracking and fair idea. There might need to a final ballot or discussion at the end though as silly young ones would have their favourites right up there every week despite maybe a lacklustre performance. Can we expect everyone to be honest?

Good idea. It might value consistency more than periods of magic which for a POTY might be appropriate. FWIW if this goes ahead I'm going with the l'Equipe method of scoring where people who have a bad game regularly get a "1" rather than the Scottish system where Beni from Crossroads gets a 4 for his performance on Monday night. A 10 from me will be rarer than a handsome hun

Cracking idea. It will be a lot closer to the true ratings the players deserve than the half-ersed ones they dish out in the papers, i'd imagine.

Or, alternatively, a list of all players, but you would only be allowed to score against 3-4-5-6 of them(ratings out of 7

I was thinking more along the lines of just voting 1-10.

Then after every time you vote for a player, the site would calculate it then offer an average rating.
So if 1000 people vote for Yves. We would add them all up and get the average score.

I'm no web techy gadgy but I thought it would just be a case of listing the whole first team squad and each Bounce member who wants to can then rate out of 10 every player who makes an appearance. The scores would accumulate and we would be able to see who's favourite etc as the season progresses. I know it's not as simple as that for the person setting it up but wouldn't it work roughly along the lines of the Prediction League?

Aye, it would be pretty much similar. But the prediction league was not made by anyone on here.
It was made by a company, they then offer it out to loads of websites to use.
Where as, if Jamie wants this made, It will be owned by the bounce and be unique
