From the players who have left the club we have lost 41 goals out of 93. Almost half the goals. Where are we going to get all these goals from!?

Not looking promising IMO. Hopefully all the strikers get 10+ and midfielders like, Sheils, O'Brien, Zemamma pick up half a dozen or more.

I feel Donaldson can cover the goals scored by Sproule and Brown together. Its if the other possible incoming striker (Kozelsky) can match what Killen put on the table for us.

I expect a fully fit Shiels and Zemmama to contribute more goals with ease.

Nowt to worry about.

Suppose the same thing was said when O'Connor and Riordan left. But we still managed.

Except that York City games have been on Sky a few times, whereas the keeper hasn't played anywhere that people have seen him...

Ive seen 7-8 games of Donaldson. Ive not seen anything of our new keeper. (Granted he played the full game in 4 of them though)

Here Here SKII, what is it with hibs fans that we always look at the half empty glass, instead of the half full one? I am really looking forward to the new season, and feel that the squad is shaping up very nicely, thank you very much. If we can sign up big Arno, I think we will have a very, very good season, hopefully ending with another cup win and possible Europe to wrap it all up!

Much like last season, I'd expect the goals to come from a number of sources rather than the charts being dominated by one or two players as they maybe were in the Riordan/O'Connor days. Wouldn't expect Jones to get as many as last season though. To be fair 9 is quite a return for a central defender, unless he's a penalty taker. Which gets me thinking, who is/will be our penalty taker?

Shiels or Benji will take the penalties imo (see the way I said that in the plural there, that's cause I am an optimistic soul who thinks that refs are going to start liking us!).

ps Speaking of which I see that Hearts had a penalty given against them last night for holding in the box during a corner. Any chance someone could find a video of it and post it to every ref in Scotland who managed to ignore it for the last year?

Did you really think he looked a player who could score a lot for us? I've not seen him - York don't feature much on Aussie tv - but I can't help thinking it's a big step up and that he'll probably be more of a bit part player for the first half a season at least.

Stop being so negative. Are you counting the irreplaceable Konte? Paul Daglish?????

I would rather we had solid defenders who didn't score than ones who let cause soft goals and score 9-10 a season.

Aye, with a no 'liabilties' at the back, i.e. Martis/Zibbi. Surely our defensive record could be better if Ma-Kalambay and Joneleit are good. And we could scrap 1-0 wins every week - bit of a dream though. Wouldnt really miss humping Gretna/Well 5/6-0 everytime we play them. Id take a clean sheet.

personally i'd rather pump 4 and 5 goals past most teams, maybe conceeding the odd goal or two now and again!

I seem to remember reading that O'Brien has only scored one senior goal and that was whilst on loan to Carlisle. Hopefully he finds his shooting boots, but I'm sure he's more a maker than a taker, I'm sure the ROI Hibees will advise on this.
