Shearer loves Hibs
Was at the Soccer Centre in Woodbridge, Ontario yesterday with 2 players l coach because Umbro was doing a promotion event for all the clubs who buy their products and suppliers. The guest player and coach was Alan Shearer, he talked with the players then they all had a light snack then he took them for a trainging session and then changed and did the PR thing photographs, autographs and chat. I had my Hibs hat on when he signed a photo for me, then he shocked me when he said " You lot got a good one in O'Brien but who would not want to be coach by Tommy Craig" I was amazed how much admiration he has for TC and Hibs then l told him my inlaws were from Ashington he smiled and said " Hibs have by far the best young talent in Scotland and good luck for next season" Big Alan is class nothing but pure class and to all the so called super stars he sighed everything the kids had and did not miss one, pure class

Thats both good and bad news.
Good because of what you have said but Bad because I always harboured a dislike for the guy - dont even know why - but if he is in fact an all round good guy and likes Hibs I will have to change my narrow blinkered viewpoint. Damn, now I will need to find someone else to hate now.

Shearer was the finest centre forward these shores have ever produced. I used to go down the road to Ewood to watch him at Rovers; he was outstanding.
Do you know who he played his first game for Blackburn against?
