Baptism of Fire

I was just listening to Clayton Donaldson on Talk 107, and again he has come across as a very confident lad.
I then started feeling sorry for any of the new guy's, bar Brian Kerr, that their first game will be at Swinecastle.

Any thoughts?

I never heard this interveiew but I heard him once before and he seems to have a lot of self belief which is great.

I'm not sure how I feel about the first game of the season being a derby. If you win it sets you on a flyer if you lose then it can do the exact opposite. Also we have to consider the fact there might be a boycott which means our lads won't have as big a support.

Re: Baptism of Fire

It's lose lose really. If we have a great support it helps the team but gives in to the stupid prices.

At the end of the day though the result and performance are the only things that should matter and not the politics.

Okay, to get back to what I was posting.
Let's say Hibs do sell out, they still have a 3/4 full Cauldron of hate to cope with. Any feelings toward the new guy's in that kind of fecked up atmosphere?

Defo don't think it's gonna be a problem for Clayton. It's really down to the individual. Some people thrive in that kind of atmosphere.

Re: Baptism of Fire

the edinburgh derby is the biggest game for any hibs player, so to start the season away to your rivals should provide massive motivation to any player. especially if it's a debut! im sure kerr, donaldson, o-brien, ma-kalambay and joneliet will be up for it big time, and collins will be determined to pump those pub team scumbo bassa's!!

Their debut will be next week in Austria. We'll make sure the guys know what we think of that filth from Gorgie. By the time we play at the Bus Shelter, they'll hate the gunts as much as we do.

Nice one M.
As alway's, I'll trust your match report which will give the less fortunate Bouncers an insight to the game.
The very best to you all, Sean.
