beattie taking 5k a week top whack - i very much doubt it.

maloney was a fringe player who had a good 6 months then went to england to earn a fortune - I reckon this is a more likely move for beattie.

having said all that I like the look of him, poor first touch but as soon as get gets the ball he's straight towards goal

I like Beattie but he always seems to be injured. Big, strong and knows were the goals are.

After Rod saying the money would be used or bulk of it would be put into our club i see this story purely as using our club as trying to attract other clubs who would be silly enough to pay that sort of money.

And where the heck do they get £1 million pound from, what do they base that on, his high amount of subs appearances. Ok he has scored AFEW goals. Craig Beattie or Craig Dargo i know which one i would rather have. Both from a club and playing point of view.

Boy from work told me this morning Whittaker is a dead cert for the huns.. very soon. 1.8 million apparantly

I would much rather we kept him but Whittaker is bound to have very itchy feet with the wages that his pals (deeks, thomshun and broonaldo) are now on. They all broke through to the first team at the same time. In young Kevin McCann we have a very able replacement and IMO an actual better defender than Whittaker.

Had never heard of Porter until Dundee Utd were linked with him.

Maybe so - but there isn't a better attacking full back in the country than Whittaker and McCann is still very young. And if McCann gets injured what do we do? Think if we're selling Murphy and Whittaker we need cover in these areas. I'd forget about Beattie and look towards strengthening the wide defensive areas. Seems like we've got more forwards in the squad now than any other type of player?!

Wouldn't be a big shock if one or the other goes but it would be absolute madness to sell both in the same transfer window IMO.
