On some of the threads on here folk are goin on as if Ivan has gone?

Ive heard the rumours but I still think thats all they are????

With the new signing, personly I think most people think he is the replacement for Ivan. Really dont want Sir Ivan to leave

People seem to think he and Whittaker are as good as gone based on rumour and speculation. Ivan sadly is a bit more than speculation as Bristol papers are reporting that he is going down for signing talks.

But yeh its just rumour nothing official.

I dont understand how O'Brien is a replacement for Sproule. Sproules a right sided player Obrien a left sided player. SURELY they would be ideal in the same team. You cant replace a right winger with a left winger which makes me think that either we have a right midfielder lined up or Ivan may indeed stay. Heres hoping anyway

Whittaker and McCann can fill that position on the right (assuming Steven is still here.)
Ivan is an asset to Hibs with his pace. We have now found someone with abit more ability and even more pace (beggers belief!) therefore it looks like Ivan is surplus to requirements. We can't have too many attacking players in the one team.

Still don't want Ivan to go though.

Zemamma would be the obvious "replacement" imo. Only way he won't be is if he is played behind the strikers as part of 5 in midfield afaic.

personally i won't mind too much if he moves on. He's performed well for us but at times looks shakey and always could come unstuck. I've heard a lot of good things about this new lad and would take zuoma over ivan any day. Just my opinion, good luck to him wherever he goes

I can confirm that there was talks between Bristol/Hibs last week, but Bristol were a bit peeved when Ivan refused to cut short his vacation back home to begin talks...... Im not sure if hes there at the moment or not but im sure more will come out in the coming days. Im hoping he waits it out and decides to stay but i feel JC has told him a few things he didnt want to hear.

Donaldson can also play wide on the right, so it may be that he takes Ivan's place if Ivan moves on? Then you would have the option of OBrien wide left, Donaldson wide right with Zemmama through the middle and Kerr holding. Lots of options anyway

I have just spoken to my Newcastle season-ticket-holding mate and he saw oBrien come off the bench once last season. He said his pace was 'incredible' but wasnt glowing about his overall ability

Oppinions eh! Id say Whittakers is a great tackler of the ball, positioning questionable! Tackling, outstanding IMO.

would be great if we were able to retain Ivan as Collins likes to bring him on from the bench , O'Brien could wreak havoc in the first half and then bring on Ivan for the second half and he will terrorise the opposition defenders as well and we will hammer all comers (I can hope)
