Hibs tried to thwart Celtic's Brown bid
HIBS were prepared to take less money from an English Premiership club if it meant midfield star Scott Brown didn't fall into the clutches of Celtic, it was revealed today.

I too found this interesting.

He was going, lower bids from Engerlund were accepted....Sellick bid £4.4m for francks sake.
I would have loved him to go to the EPL...but he didnt.....he's gone to sellick.....and we've gotten a massive wedge.....and he's been mighty courteous and given money back......... Strange that Petrie would come out and say this - If he really wanted to stop Brown going to Celtic surely he could have?
He could have said to Brown "You can speak to Middlesbrough and Reading or stay at Hibs" In saying that, i'm happy with the deal.
