Re: where in the field?

Come the end/start of next of the season I'd say Im more worried about the central midfield with the loss of Brown, Stewart and Beuzelins current form. Striking department may need strengthing aswell. The Goalkeeping positions will be looked at already.

Re: where in the field?

I thought you'd gone off in the huff ??

The goalkeeping position is a no brainer !

I think we still need a really agressive centre back, someone in the Bobo Balde mould, lets face it we only hated him cos he bossed the box.

If Brian Kerr can come in and play the holding, ball winning midfield maestro role that we hope he will then we also need a direct replacement in the Scott Brown position, someone who will drive directly at goal and worry defenders.

We have Sproule, Whitty and Murphy at the moment rampaging down the wings but they never seem to get a cross into the box. When can you last remember Sproule getting past someone and "not" cutting inside and trying to walk the ball into the net. Get the ball past the last man and make the defence turn and run towards their own goal, so much more difficult to defend.

Poor old Clayton Donaldson has a lot of expectation on his head already. Is he the answer ? was Sowunmi ?

Re: where in the field?

IMO we need a striker in the Killen mould, a Paul Hartley (when he was at hearts) type of midfielder and a decent centre back. Goalkeeper obviously

If we could get that Makalamby from Chelsea or de vries then the goalie situation would be sorted.

I agree we need a bobo balde type centre back. Maybe bamba?

A midfielder will be hard to find. Maybe Ian Black of ICT

Striker in the killen mould with his sort of goal scoring ratio is near impossible to find so I'm at a loss as to who could really replace him. We should just offer him a 2 year deal!

I know Bamba and Black arent ideal but thats the market we are in, we for some odd reason, refuse to spend anything on players and we refuse to raise the wage bill. therefore we are never going to move forward from mid table obscurity for at least a few years.

...although by that time all our decent youngsters will have migrated along the M8

Re: where in the field?

Yup, got chelsea tv so I've seen him play a few times for their reserves. Also saw him in the FA cup when he played for them against some wee team (could of been the Carling cup not quite sure?)

He is big and imposing and looks a good shotstopper. Was always keen to come off his line and looked assured.

Problem is he is also quite young but is 6ft 7 which would fill the back four with some confidence having a big goalie behind them I think.

I know it would be quite a step up for him but he looked up to it in the 4 or 5 games I saw him in.

I seen him in the carlin cup I think, he looked confident and bossed his defence around well. The thing is TM got players like Killen,Sproule,Jones,Beni and Zemamma and I dont think JC has links like that.
