I am aware that RP dosen't wish to spend money on players in the close season but i think we should gamble on Eastwood. He is a natural goalscorer and since Southend got relagated to league 1 i think he would move to Hibs. Guaranteed there would be alot of English clubs tracking him but if we made a firm bid for him who knows

. A player like Eastwood is what we are lacking at the moment and to improve the situation i think we should gamble on him. Southend won't be able to keep him this season and he will move somewhere and why not Hibs. There is a slight problem of his wages but i don't think he will be earning much at Southend

. If we were to gamble on him it would show alot of ambition within the club. Do any of you agree?

I agree, well worth a gamble but the problem is he has been linked with lots of championship and some premiership team.

i would love to see Eastwood but like it says above there are better teams going for him and he would probably prefer one of them

Eastwood will be a minimum £2-3M player in the summer. plenty of interest in him even at that price.

I'd like to see us showing some ambition and go for David Healy from Leeds. No premiership team has come in for him, he is scoring goals at international level and we might be just what he needs-theres also the Norn iron connection with Ivan and Deano.

Not necessarily. Leeds have been open for offers for him for a while but havent received any.

I think we need to be realistic, we probably are gonna sign a few players in the summer but these are not gonna be well known players, Hibs and the SPL havent got the pull for players like,Eastwood,Healy and many other players that have been released from Championship clubs in the past few days.

We're gonna sign players that we havent heard of that have been released from french leagues,lower English leagues and from all over the continent no doubt.

This isnt necessarily a bad thing look at Boozy,Hogg,Jones,Benji..........

Hibs are not big enough to get either Eastwood or Healy. Unless Petrie dramatically raises the wage barrier then the most we'll be getting is guys like Chris Killen who are here to use us and move on to bigger and better things.

If Hibs had anychance of signing people like Eastwood or Healy we wouldnt have bloody Clayton Donaldson from Conference football signing for us.

It's amazing though, how we attracted players like Frank Sauzee and Russell Latapy to the club when we were in devision 1 but now we can hardly attract anyone like Eastwood
