Boro in bid for Brown
Anyone seen the retard's article on Brown's move to Boro for 5.5 million, this is not on the retard's website-maybe a late edition article, Keith Jackson sounds like he's in tears!.

Re: Boro in bid for Brown
same report on bbc.co.uk.
Boro confirm that they are in talks with Hibs but would not confirm a fee. If the reports of £5.5M are true then that has to be good money

Re: Boro in bid for Brown
If SB goes to the huns that will be the biggest kick in the baws he could deliver to the Hibs support and even though we are almost accustomed to our players doing this to us, it would be a very sore one indeed.

Re: Boro in bid for Brown
£5.5 m, that'd be some deal, remember only a few months ago we were gonna sell KT and SB for £4 mil combined.
Now we stand to make nearly double that figure! |

The only draw of going to Rangers is the possibility of champions league football and a slim chance of a league winner's medal - in a league that is universally accepted as sub-standard within Europe. Broonie going to either Rangers or Celtic would not only be a kick in the nads for us, but I'd also suggest that he'll be delivering himself the dullest of dull kicks in the nether regions.

This a full blown Scottish Internationalist, who has had people like spongefud squarepass and that scumbag lennon in his pocket for the last 3yrs. (2 shoite players fair enuff) Broony, with the right development, will be better than Souness. Best young midfielder to come out of Scotland since John Collins IMO. He is THE young player up here. Us hibbys have seen his development, we have all known the lads class, and this is being underlined by the REAL interest dahn sarf! (I put Riordan up there as well - in my book he is the most naturally gifted young forward I've seen in my time at Hibs - we, as a club fcuked that one up - so I am very happy Hibernian are going to get a sniff of some mullah) Lastly, I could see the figure heading upt to the £7m mark! Premiership teams are about to get their £30m cheque... dont rule anyone out from Spuz,Toon,Boro, toffees,Man City and the makems (imo of course) Onwards and upwards Cabbage

Re: Boro in bid for Brown
The overseas TV income money of £30 million per club per season in the EPL really is kicking in now and will dwarf any package Celtic can put together even with their Champions League money.
'Scotlands Shame' is of course always quoted and might have some emotional pull though I doubt that so 'Scotland's Shame' should remain a rank outsider as they really aren't that big a club given Celtic now dominate them financially and they can't remotely compete with at least 16 of the EPL clubs. Why would Mr Petrie pre call an agreement with 'Scotland's Shame' as he is many things but not plain stupid as this would rule out a bidding war meaning Hibs would sell a player at last years prices not this years prices. Dumb Scots of course read the Record and even worse believe the Record but I see this story as them beginning to slowly backtrack on their 'Broon for Scotland's Shame' exclusive of earlier this year

Re: Boro in bid for Brown
If Scott turns down the opportunity of going down south for any english team just to join the old firm he is not half the player we think he is imo. If he is going to turn down the like of playing at the Emirates Stadium, Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge and the new Wembley his head needs checking. No disrespect to Fir Park or Falkirk etc even us included but why would you turn down the Premiership, biggest league in the world, even if you are going to be playing champions league.
It rests with you Scotty.

So are you saying if we received £5 million it wouldnt make a difference if we just gave him away? Just because all the money doesnt get reinvested into the team immediately doesnt mean to say it is not being invested elsewhere in the club. |

Re: Boro in bid for Brown
Well ultimately it's the team on the park that matters and in that respect there's a lack of investment.

In saying all this though, and John Collins saying there is not any money to spend on players, where does this alleged £150,000+ offer for Daryll Duffy fit in? I think it's more likely that the amount of money hibs spend is being played down so as not to inflate any transfer fees. |

Would this £5.5 million not put Hibs a huge step closer to being able to properly invest in the team at a far earlier point in the future, or do you not care about such things?? Also if the hun's can't even meat Wigan's price tag for Lee McCulloch then what chance do they have of getting Brown?? vbut then again next season they will have Broadfoot and Gow! I'm shitting it already about how good they will be!!

I was making the point that it's on record that the manager will not get a penny of any proceeds from any sale. Furthermore IMO it's a very dangerous game to sell players of the quality of Garry O'Connor, Derek Riordan, Kevin Thomson and Scott Brown for very impressive huge transfer fee's and not to reinvest part of the proceeds back into the team. Bottom Six beckons if not IMO.. |

Relegation and Hands on Hibs and StraitonGate I and II.This season was the perfect opportunity to finish much higher up the league and get to the Scottish cup final by strengthening what remained of the 'golden generation' with a goalkeeper and central defender at least but the opportunity was missed by the usual excuses of give 'JC a chance, 'we huvnae any money' or 'I have every faith in the young players breaking through'. Brown must leave very soon and Middlesboro have actually confirmed today they are in informal talks with Hibs so that rather puts the kybosh on tales by all these 'people in the know Whittaker and Murphy must follow next season as well otherwise no fee will be obtained and this would mean Mr Petrie deserves great credit for his excellent financial trading in players ![]() but between him and JC they seem to be reactive rather than proactive in adequetly strengthening the team so has always with Hibs...close but nae cigar
