Reactionaries?

No...

As if...

Any chance people can start greeting, gnash their teeth, bump their gums, dry their eyes, stop fucking winging, or stop their self pleasuring themselves for long enough to have word with themselves?

Re: Reactionaries?

The reality is that there is something not right at hibs again. As usual, (cup win aside) we've hardly won a game since christmas, our form since Collins arrived has continued to slide, the manager is clearly being undermined first from the squad and almost certainly the board.

Re: Reactionaries?

Hokay heres my take...the hibs team peaked perfectly in the 5-1 demolition of the ayrshire huns...this is the come down if you like. A win on the 18mar07 is better than any derby win would have been this season.

hold on a fruckin minute we did feck the scumbos in the 81% game to win the cup. frucken excellent season boys, I'll take a trophy every season if we have to finish the season poorly as a result - same thing happened in '91-'92

Nah i agree with Kenny , a season is more than games against one team .
Your comment smacks of Rangers / Celtic
A cup win means a trophy , a derby win is 3 points

I've given myself a good talkin too and I'll quite happily see this season replayed for the next couple of years...

I've not missed hibs at hampden since the eighties and the pain of walking away from there with nothing to show hurts more than any derby loss and the joy of lifting silverware (being the best in the land inc. the gunts) is fantastico - better than derby win.

5-1 vs killie and what is means is better than 6-2.

6-2 was fantastic but at the end othe day it was 3 points (just like a scrappy one nil victory at east end park)
I'm with you mate , we won a cup this season , more than Rangers , Hearts , Killie etc etc

Re: Reactionaries?

Good shout Kenny. We have ended the season poorly as we usually do only this time we have something to show for it.

Supporters are faring even worse though, by the looks, with everything from bipolar disorder to outright hysteria.

I think alot of the 30K at hampden saw 5-1 as the start of instant sucess - the big time...they expected more and SC semi soured the CIS joy.

Yes but it can't remove it . We've won one trophy more than everyone apart from Celtic this season

Re: Reactionaries?

I'd rather we'd had both the CIS Cup and a successful league season. The fact that we've won a cup, IMO, doesn't make up for disgraceful league form, but it does sort of numb it a wee bit. I've just viewed the post-cup win collapse as "typical bloody Hibs" to be honest.

So if we hadn't won the cis would it just have felt like normal service ?

WRONG.

"typical bloody Hibs" would have lost the cup final...

Pretty much!

I've sort of learned not to expect anything of Hibs. I think we must be the most unpredictable team going. The fact that we're rarely good enough to challenge for the big prizes (I rank the Scottish trophies in the following order of importance - 1. League 2. Scottish Cup 3. League Cup), yet are even less likely to be bad enough to be involved in a relegation battle drives me mental, but it's something I've come to terms with to an extent. Going on recent history (ie the Mowbray seasons) this season must be viewed as a disappointment in terms of league form, as we've dropped from being the top "non - money" team in Scotland (4th behind Celtic, Rangers and Romanov Hearts last season, 3rd behind the OF prior to that) to being mid table, but also as a massive success in terms of finally winning the big game at Hampden.

CIS win apart, this season has been very similar to many in recent memory, IMO.

Too right.

Which is why I viewed the post-cup win collapse as "typical bloody Hibs". We're inconsistent, especially in the 2nd half of the season. I think that this season, CIS apart, has been "typical bloody Hibs". Typical Hibs to win the Cup, and build up our hopes, before playing poorly in the following games. Typical Hibs to gift the scumbos goals, points, wins. Typical!

PS. This is my 1000th post!
