Strange Behaviour!

Maybe I'm looking too deeply into things but I found one thing very strange during yesterdays game.

Usually when a player clears the ball of the line he gets congratulated by his team mates and pats on the head from Goalkeeper and Defenders. Yesterday Zemmamma had a fantastic clearance and nobody in the Hibs team batted an eyelid, nobody even acknowledged it! What's up with that?

Maybe because the club seems obsessed with the two morracans now and not interested in the scottish, norn irish and english players at the club.

Not sure Owen!

They're all part of the same squad and judging by his time on the park recently Zemmamma isn't getting any special treatment from the Management. I think the Club is marketting our North African contingent with the T-shirts etc but I wouldn't suggest this should stop Players congratulating a team mate.

As I said maybe I'm looking too deeply but I sense a real unhappiness around the place at the moment and there seem to be a few who just want this season and possibly their time at Hibs over with!

undoubtably - at least one and as many as 4 or 5 don't expect to be here next season...

Also, when Murph was subbed yesterday, JC never even looked at him (same with Deano vs. the Huns) but when eg. McCann came off last week JC was all high-fives, smiles and congratulating him. Another sign of divisions in the camp?

Re: Strange Behaviour!

The split seems to be the senior British and Irish v The Youngsters and the Morrocans

I suspect the revolt was a group of players who socialise together, the Morrocans being non-drinkers are unlikely to be in that group as are the youngsters who will probably have their own circle.

Re: Strange Behaviour!

Everyone ignored Zemmama after his clearance. I don't know who is at blame with the rift - I suspect everyone - but it needs to get sorted out soon. We've thrown away the last 2 months of this season because of it, had we lost to Kilmarnock in the CIS final I suspect Collins job would be under threat. Clearly there are deep divisions between the squad, and between some of the squad and the management, and I feel Collins is rather unprofessional in his rather blatant favouritism as regards reactions.

It doesn't take a degree in rocket science to realise that there are still problems behind the scenes. It's a real worry as I can only see it ending in tears and not just players leaving the club.

Also, Collins isn't there to win a popularity contest. If the senior players' egos are so fragile, maybe they should be having a long, hard look at themselves.

I dont want to defend the revolters too much though it does help however, if your players actually have respect for the manager and the only way you obtain that is by earning it and in my books arrogance isnt how you go about it. Its a two way thing and i hope things get straightened out for next season

Sorry, but I can't agree.
If your boss at work was arrogant, it wouldn't prevent you from doing your job properly would it? Sure you'd mump and moan, but at the end of the day you'd want to keep your job. So, anybody not working properly because they think that their boss is a bit arrogant, is really only interested in themselves.

Good post, both points.

We're going to see a good few changes this summer. We've got a young and extremely ambitious manager who, understandaby, wants to build his own team ASAP. He's not going to take prisoners here.

Mowbray's team were used to his ways and equally understandably have had their nose put out of joint by a new manager knocking everyone back down to square one and bringing in his own, very different outlook. Remember how the players had minor hissy-fits when Mowbray first arrived, banned mobiles from training and generally introduced more professionalism? This seems the same to me x10.

As fans we should get behind the manager, give him a full season with his own team and wait to see what happens. If it's good then good. If it's bad then start moaning if you want.

I admire the ambition of JC, he seems to want everyone to play to their full potential and doesn't seem to be accepting any less. I notice he regularly subs players who aren't performing at times when I wouldn't expect other managers would do the same.

Where Mowbray would regularly admit that we would never challenge the OF, JC feels that given a bit of time, we can. I like that sort of belief in Hibernian, it's what we need. As a player he stayed longer at ER than he had to and it worked out well. It sounds like he has a long term plan for his management career too.

I hope so and am happy to write off this season (write off? we won a cup ffs

We have won a cup, for only the 2nd time in 16 years. If you are not happy then go and support someone else.

Please.

I will pay for all the doom-merchants to fuck off to Tynecastle next year, silly people that you are.

See you all at the Derby on Saturday - if you can be bothered - because there are still tickets left.

One Johnny Collins. Judge him this time next year.

You can see the divisions in the side before kick off when the players are warming up. They form sub groups with the youngsters (Stevenson, McCann, Lynch, etc), Former youngsters (Fletch, Murphy, Ivan, etc) and the others (Benji, Boozy, Zemm, etc). It was however good to see Jones going across and warming up with the youngsters at the weekend. They had one touch passing going on for quite a while. Just hope that JC can get the squad together and give them a kick up the behind!

JC is the manager, we have to give him a full season to judge his merits. Lets just sit back and watch what happens in the close season and next season. If he fails, we'll let em know our opinions, for now, extend the man the courtesy of a full season in charge.
