Superb I really do get to you don't I

If you research the debate and context of what I was supposed to have said and give me the actual quote then we can discuss and expand upon the matter as I find the dynamics of cities, culture changes and population shifts fascinating in relation to football attendances.

Some rather bland meaningless statement that 'Didn't somebody say something somewhere a few years ago' isnae really good enough.

A proud British Unionist such as yourself who has obviously gone to considerable lengths to find an anti Scottish avatar shouldn't find it to difficult to do a little research or perhaps you find football a bit similar to politics and you lack a little self confidence and belief.

Well there you go..

FWIW i normally make a point of praising your posts as they are constructive and well thought out (unlike mine..) and can't recall at any time challenging or taking issue with your posts..

If you refer to my original post i was asking a question not pointing out a fact.

Ahh so we get to the point where we find out what touched the nerve..

FYI it's not an anti-Scottish avatar it's actually an official SNP image to the best of my knowledge..

FWIW and FYI
I tend to read posts in descending order which in your case was the woolly heading in relation to me, followed by the shrug and then your anti scottish avatar which is obviously related to your British Unionism.

This doesn't seem very appropriate for a football forum but that's an aside and if you don't want to discuss attendance figures then more's the pity as they are really really interesting.

I've tried to do a search but i can only get back to last summer when i search..

From memory around the time from the 'Stay at Easter Road Business plan' from the board late 2003 you have contributed interesting thoughts and stats on the support of our club.

IIRC you posted a thread sometime ago on how we achieved 'XYZ' crowds in the successful 2000-2001 season and as such it would be difficult to see how we could improve on that based on our historical averages etc etc..

Therefore when i think of Hibs support stats etc i think 'SlovSam'..

Therefore as we have experienced very impressive growth in our crowd stats in recent seasons i thought i would just ask the question and in particular yourself..

I was actually praising you..

Mystified as to why you should take such exception to that but i suppose that's maybe just what 'British Unionism' provokes from you..

Sticking to attendances I don't actually have the information in front of me but I will dig it out tomorrow but as a general comment I think I have been very surprised at where Hibs attendance figures have gone in the last three years.

If you look at the numbers you often find that attendances increases are as much based on the factors of hope and expectation as well as the obvious standard of football being played.

Under 'Boaby' there was an average crowd of only 9,000 and while the football was quite poor it wasn't downright awful the way it was under Jim Duffy who managed to get around 10,500 to 11,000 as average.

The feel good factor had gone under 'Boaby' but it always remained with Duffy even up to the 6-2 defeat at Motherwell.

Next season will be interesting for Hibs because I think Rod Petrie to some extent has been rumbled and the defeat against Dunfermline and the constant sell off of players against a backdrop of a £7m profit has really hit the feel good factor.

Supporters feel the frustration that this season included a great success but was also another huge missed opportunity and the positive outlook isn't what it was at the end of last season so Hibs might struggle to hit the 11,500 season ticket sales again.

Then again two great signings and you bring it all back as that's the fickle nature of football.

Our average this season is just under 15,000. Last season it was under 14,000 and in Mowbray's first season under 13,000.

In 22 years as a regular at ER attendances have never been higher.

Good to see you're not a miserable so and so all the time.
