I honestly don't know why Hibs make the PA announcement about sectarianism, bigotry before the game because the police seem to do SFA about it.

My brother reported the Hun support the first sectarian song they got going inside the satdium at 10 to 3. He was told they ould be making a PA announcement about sectarianism, bigotry before the game and acting firmly on it. Neither happended.

Before the game, we made the error of simply trying to walk down our street - to find about 20 of them tanked up, drinking from cans and blocking our only way out. The verbal tirade we endured was shocking. The bigotted bile spewing from every oriface. Fenian this, fenian that. Where were the polis to move this kind of group on? If they were teenagers on a Friday night they would do. My laddie actually took my hand at this point as he would have done when a wee yin.

Down ER, near the chippy, they had taken over the entire pavement. No alternative than to go onto the road carefully. Again the polis doing nothing to clear the obstruction. At this point the sly kicks and pushes rained in on my 10 and 12 year old from these cowardly morons. Again the polis not at all to be seen. On the other side of the road more intent on helping touts shift their unwanted briefs.

I hate the OF with a passion and today reminded me more than ever why.

How can we seriously believe that action is being taken against sectarianism when we all heard songs about the UVF, Derry and other niceties going completely unchallenged and unpunished?

These neanderthals are completely above the law of the land on this score and they know it.

I think many of us have seen this kind of stuff over the years. One incident that sticks in my mind was seeing a young dad with his two kids about 7/8 years olf walking down Easter Road to a game. They were surrounded by a group of jeering Rangers fans yelling stuff like "what about your fucking IRA then?" and other complete bollocks. The young guy and his children looked terrified and quite a few of us ran over the road to confront the Rangers fans before the police finally stepped up and actually did something at that point, dispersing the situation.

I like many am sick of Edinburgh people having to out up with this vermin. It never seems to alter nor will anyone confront the situation. I wonder if it would be possible to start an initiative on The Bounce - maybe even across websites, to publicise these things that are happening and to make complaints to the club and to the police? The problem is that it will go away and be fogotten once more until the next time otherwise. Anybody have any thoughts or ideas on this?

The lack of action over the years towards this cr@p is in my opinion Scotland's real shame. Hibs and all other teams have been partners to turning a Nelson to the problem and that is tragic. Some praise Hertz for their ticket allocation cut but we all know that that is fueled by profit motives and overall season ticket sales.

Until real action is taken and these scumbos are made social outcasts instead of being sucked up to by the Scottish Media and the other Scottish clubs then all we can do is keep complaining in the manner you suggest and hope eventually some people with real principles and courage take control of the media, the Police and the non-OF clubs. Sadly the reality is that most organisations in Scotland are full of people who are OF scumbos so its no surprise they do SFA about it.

The Aidan Smith book had the sub-title "sipping from the devils cup" and in my opinion that is exactly what clubs like Hibs do constantly as we pander to the OF and do little real stuff to banish this kinda shame. Maybe some people can come up with evidence that Hibs and other clubs make a real effort but from where I'm looking it has always appeared to be token words and insignifcant gestures.

I am very sorry to hear that you were subjected to this behaviour from the rangers fans and also for all other supporters who had to listen to the scum sprouting their bigotry comments and sectarian singing at all us hibees.

I cannot believe in this day and age that this still goes on.

I had a discussion with a guy at my work on friday ahead of yesterdays match (he is a rangers fan btw) and we got on to the topic of the sectarian singing and bigotry behaviour. I said that I was absolutely disgusted the last time Hibs met Rangers at Easter Road as the singing was terrible coming from the away end and again the police stood and watched it and listened to it for the whole 90 minutes doing nothing. He tried to argue that people have different opinions of what is sectarian and what is not and tried to compare there 'feenian blood' comments with us singing 'paul hartley is gay'. Erm hello, how can this be a comparison, me thinks he was clutching at straws. He also said that they have sung these songs for years so will continue to do so (so this makes it ok???? - i think not).

I ended the conversation by saying I no longer wanted to have a discussion with him as he was in himself a bigot if he agreed with the 'minority' of rangers fans behaviour and he himself joined in with them. I told him I would rather support a 'true' football team who actually plays football than the OF who are just full of glory hunters and racists.

It is about time something was done and if it means stopping any tickets going to the OF then this should be the case. I know it is all about money at the end of the day but if the staff at Easter Road want to keep their supporters then they really must tackle this situation as it is not just a one off.

As someone who works for Lothian and Borders Police, and I make no apologies for that, the only way anything will change if complaints (and lots of them) are made to Hibernian FC, Rangers FC, Lothian and Borders Police , the SFA and maybe even UEFA.

What happened to SKII was shocking but unless it is reported nothing can be done. It's all very well complaining on here but unless you put pen to paper (or the technological equivalent) nothing will get the done. You MUST make a stand or this kind of nonsense will continue.

I work with police officers and they're not perfect by any manner of means but they have a difficult job to do. Would any of you do it? I know I wouldn't.

I suggest that those wishing to do something about this scum call Lothian and Borders Police on 0131-311 3131 and ask to speak to the Match Commander for yesterday's game.

Next season, Hibs/Police should let it be known that if sectarian songs are sung at ER, the entire SS will be closed to the respective support the next time their team visit ER, like a 1 game supprter ban. The following seasons the same rule would come into affect.

Go public stating the reasons, we all know why this filth should not be allowed anyway near the ground, slating the SPL, SFA, L&B Police, Rangers & Uefa for not doing anything about this.

We get roughly about 2% of the available seats at Ibrox so why don't we cut Rangers allocation to 2% of the capacity at ER. This, if my maths is right, would equate to about 350 tickets which we could house in the bottom half of the South stand. Keep them in for 10 minutes at the end of the match and then have them escorted to their buses/cars in the same way as we are at Ibrox thus eliminating all the nonsense that goes on in Easter Road at the end of the match. Their missing supporters wouldn't be missed by Hibs as more of the home support would feel safer in turning up for the match so there would be little, if any, loss of revenue for the club from gate receipts.

Well the thing about that is we only take around 1000-1200 fans to an away game at the hunnery and because of this we are bullied by the police and stewards.

At half-time of the 3-0 game in December i went up to one of Strathclyde's finest and asked...
