new owners required

after an absoloute gash sleep last night and hellish day at work, i have come to the conclusion is that we need new owners, people with passion for football and who want to see hibs progressing not continually stuttering along ,yes mr farmer saved us in the dark days but he needs to step aside, yes rod petrie has done well with the debt, but lets not forget he was responsible for a lot of it but will not spend money when it was plain to see that 3 players in at the transfer window would have made a massive difference, christ we,re crying out for goals, we sign a player on a pre contract when a big enough bid could have brought him in earlier, another example of penny pinching which has proved costly, this was a superb chance to win the cup which sadly i don,t think i will ever see hibs ever win it unless we have football men in charge, i don,t want us to go into massive debt again but i would like to see us showing the fans some ambition and bringing in older experienced players to supplement the youngsters this is what was sadly missed last night, lets be honest dunfermline are poor but 3 games against them without a goal tells its own story,i don,t want any tom dick or harry to be the new owners just people who have an urge to make us more consistent and at least have a squad big enough to compete, but i suppose there is,nt many people out there with deep pockets to drive us on , i just wish there was , a dejected and pissed of hibs fan who will still be there on saturday because i want my team to finish the season by winning the last 4 games even though they mean very little

Re: new owners required

If we sell Scott Brown for 5 million, why can't we sign someone for 4 million and keep 1 million for other things?

One thing is for sure: If it is on Sir Tom's/Rod's agenda to eventually pass on ownership, they have done an excellent job in turning it into a business worth buying. Compared to a few short years ago, we now have very little, if any, debt, 75% of an excellent stadium and a terrific fan base if ST sales for next season are on a par with this season. Add to that the soon-to-be-opened Training Centre and the conveyor belt of young talent it is likely to turn out, it looks like a good bet. I have no idea how much money someone would have to put up to take over but surely, with the infrastructure in place, it would be a much more attractive venture than simply ploughing money in to service existing debts.

Well said Blue Toon, but l think one thing is missing. The present ownership think they can put a sub par (sorry for the pun) product on the park and the fans will still through loyalty keep coming, they are totally wrong. Just look at last night's attendance sure a lot of other things on the TV but how many could not be bothered. I personally will be suprised if ST sales are as high as last year, l think Sir Tom has ran his course and we are thankful but now get someone in who knows the meaning of the word AMBITION

Look what happened to hearts when they got taken over. Its now like watching eastenders. If a new owner comes around i just hope Hibs are very carefull when they accept any offer or we could end up with a Romanov

Get your point, but what have they done while the Mad Mans been their. Sure we will be negative but also envious of an owner who has vision. Yes we must make the correct choice but keeping the status quo will only bring us another cup in 16 years, see you in 2023?

Would love to see it but dont think theres any £4m players who would be attracted by 2k a week, i think we should use money from brown to loosen the wage structure
