Killen turns down Hibs deal

http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?...deal&channel=&

Shame but atleast the issue is resolved. It would have been nice to have kept Killen but I dont think it will be that hard to replace him considering John Sutton is out of contract aswell.

Bye Chris Killen, thanks for all the memories.

Rescued his career and helped him through this injury and he can't give us an extra year?

Agreed. He seems a bit injury prone anyway.

We got him for nothing, he scored some important goals for us, moved on for nothing and I fell we can easily replace him for nothing.

Re: Killen turns down Hibs deal

I hope this is yet another story and not the truth. He has done well for us and would have been on for 20 goals plus for us if he had statyed fit. It is not easy on our budget to find experienced and reliable goal scorers and would be a blow after the departures of O'Connor and Riordan last year. Let's hope that something can be done. If not good luck to him, he came on a bosman and is entitled to move on if that is what he want's.

Re: Killen turns down Hibs deal

he done well for hibs, no arguement there.

he done well for himself at the same time though
putting himself in the shop window.

IMO always on the cards, nobody needs that much time to decide on a new contract or not.

Understatement of the year, he's spent more than half of this season injured. But has managed to score 15 goals so he will be missed

Re: Killen turns down Hibs deal

you cant blame him for wanting to go elsewhere whilst in the treatment room. remember he got injured playing for hibs and his employees have a duty to look after him. all the best if true but as ive said before his injury proneness is a bit of a problem and he is no big loss imo

IMO will be a massive loss. 16 goals in half a season.
If Donaldson can come in and get that amount of goals in a full season then he will be doing well.

Re: Killen turns down Hibs deal

We’ve got Fletcher, Benji, Gray and Donaldson plus Jason Scotland (the nations top scorer) and John Sutton are out of contract, he is easily replaceable.

Killen was a good goal scorer but his real talent was holding the ball up and bringing the likes of Benji and Sheils into play. That’s what we need to replace and what we’ve missed, and that is what I feel Sutton would bring to us. Indeed Killens goals to games ratio might be better than Suttons but Sutton will play 35 games a year to Killens twenty. Killens departure could end up being a blessing in disguise.
