According to todays daily mail Scott Brown could be heading south to Spurs for 4 million in the summer........

I hope all the clubs thta are alledgedly waiting to bid for him have seen all they need to of him already as they won't get much chance in the next few weeks. Much rather keep him at ER but a sum like £ 4m would be too good to refuse.

Even if the huns had 40 midfielders they would still buy him in the summer given the chance. In any case perhaps spurs are going to offloa some of the ones they have to make room

obviously i'd rather he stayed at er, but if we were to get £4 mill and he was going down south, i'd wish him all the best.

£4 million's to good to refuse (unless the bid comes from wegie land)

That would be a great move from him. Regular European football, playing against the likes of Man Utd, Arsenal, and Chelsea, earning just as much if not more than he would at Rangers, and playing in one of the best teams in Britain/Europe.

Agree. Spurs are one of the classiest teams down there, and should be pushing for Champions League next season. Would have thought his wages will be a lot higher than the Hunz could pay as well

Re: Brown heading spurs

I think the good thing about it is, he's now been mentioned in links with Charlton, West Brom, Bolton Wanderers and Spurs as well as the OF.

This will surely boost interest in him in Englandshire!

Let the bidding War commence and let's ensure the OF are priced out the market! (assuming the Huns deal isn't already done off course!)

It's clear since his hun feckwit mate Thomson left he has been told something to make him knuckle down and get on with things.

My money is on Broonaldo being a hun come July.

I agree, all the guessing will mean nothing, Hibs will have sold out to a rival for less than his value.

Fully expect Broon to be confirmed as a Fully Fledged Hun in the summer.

I hope I'm wrong.

I reckon any team in the EPL would be a far better choice than the old squirm. Of the teams mentioned so far Spurs would seem to be a much better option than the 'agricultural' Bolton or Charlton.

Re: Brown heading spurs

I don't think Rodders makes deals.

At least deals that make no sense.
He will ask for offers from Dan Sarf and hope a deal can be struck.
The only one who MAY have struck a deal is Broonaldo, who may have struck a deal with the Hun for instance.
Silly boy if he has, but he is more likely to do something daft like that than Rod Mouser.

Re: Brown heading spurs

It's quite an interesting dilema developing as Hibs will want to sell Brown to the EPL as this is where they get the highest fee.
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 5 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
Any team in the EPL can easily outbid Celtic now that they are receiving the £30m windfall from overseas TV rights.

Celtic on the other hand can easily outbid 'Scotland's Shame' as they are now a far bigger and more richer club with much less debt and far more stability.

The player ultimately makes the choice so he could dig his heels in and refuse to go anywhere other than 'Scotland's Shame' but who will offer Hibs the least transfer fee.

An upstanding and moral man like Mr Petrie who represent such a noble instution as Hibernian FC wouldn't remotely do this or even think of it of course but this is where black suitcases full of money come in handy.

The players agent and the player himself is given a sweetner by the selling club to move to the club offering the highest fee. This is common to transfers in newly independant Eastern European countries brokered and bankrolled by Eastern Multi Millionaires I believe

though a very similar scenario was once undertaken in England by a Peter Shilton transfer (minus the black suitcase of course) which the Inland Revenue investigated.

Broon is born to play football and at the highest level and I'm sure he will choose the EPL given the chance above 'Scotland's Shame' or there in bred cousins

I couldn't see Brown turning down a move to Spurs if it happened. For an ambitious footballer who believes in his own ability, it's an easy choice. What's the point moving to Rangers and continuing to play the Motherwells and Falkirks?

The Blue boots he wears is no coincidence though I fear.
Scunnered if he goes to hunsville uk but he has been outstanding with th Hibs.
Delighted if he stays but I doubt it..... Hibernian Forever.

Re: Brown heading spurs

Unfortunately, I fear that a deal has already been agreed and Scott Brown will be going to Rangers in the summer. Let's not forget that he handed in a written transfer request in December, and it was quickly withdrawn after Thomsons move at the end of January. Sice then Scott has knuckled down and produced some fine performances again. This would leave me to think that he has been told he will get his move to the Hunnery at the end of the season, and his agent has advised him to withdraw his transfer request.

I hope i'm wrong, but it looks on the cards to me.
