McCann, Martis & Chisholm

Just back and these three were the pick of the bunch for me tonight. Jonesy, Brown and Murphy turn it on every week but the three mentioned in the title can share my praise.
Im aware JC gave his to Chisholm, who looked like the more experienced player alongside Stewart tonight. He took up positions well and a few neat passes. Tired as game went on and led to a few astray passes but solid debut.
Martis was back for his first start in 5, 6 games? and had a solid game. Kept his position, won everything (as did Number 5), remained calm in possession and nearly scored minus Ivan getting a block on the header from Hibs first corner of the second half. Still ****s moaning at him though. He might have had a nervy last 5minutes but I think this was through the team and this shouldn't be taken away from someone who was only second to my MotM.
McCann was dogged in closing down, solid in the challenge in the air and on the ground and tried to push things forward but not to the style we are used to seeing from our usual right back.

Funnily enough all three got booked. Chisholms was the only one that merited a booking I felt, however it was his first challenge and inside the 10minute mark. Along with Scotty B I felt that Shelton and Kevin were harshly done by. The referee, I.Brines, now alleviates himself above C.Thomson into joint 2nd place with Freeland and behind C.Richmond in the biggest **** of a referee ever.

Perfect post, they three were the ones who stood out today. Chisholms debut for the first team? Martis looked solid beside Jones. McCann never stopped running.

The auld reliable Murphy played superb (as always). Jones, Brown, Zemamma played well. Thought Sproule never really got into the game, alongside Benji..

Michael Stewart? No even gonnae go down that road.

Referee was a disgrace - think Freeland has been giving him lessons.

Martis and McCann were kept busy defensively at times and just about coped ok, going forward both seemed comfertable in possession - which was a bit of a shock regarding Martis

With Chisholm i was VERY impressed with his 1st half performance. His yellow card was a bit harsh i felt as there was contact but a yellow was a bit OTT never mind it was his 1st foul 10 mins in or so whilst other playres got away with more. His passing was good and his movement after he played it was superb i noticed

I dunno how many times me and other hibbies hav screamed for out-of-possesion hibs players to move for the player with the ball to creae options and this lad did that with ease constantly. He seemed to fall out of things ever so slightly in the 2nd half - prob due to boozy and Brown picking up their game a bit, but this lad seemes like one for the future definately

It's difficult to understand how we didn't win this game if all the players you mentioned played really well!

Jonesy Motm
Brown very good but still didn't deliver anything that could equate to a chance
Chisholm pished all over stewart - impressive range of passing - reading of the game and decision making
stewart got it tight from the hibs fans from the start and I thought it a bit harsh but he was the inverse of chisolm, poor range of passing - poor reading of the game and poor decision making
McCann Solid though most of their traffic went past murphy and he had the far busier night.

TBF he won nothing in the first 5mins till he found his feet, he was out jumped by players who he already had a height advantage on...he wouldn't have scored as st murn had two men on the line , but an excellent knockdown that ivan should've done more with.

wouldn't rate him that highly, but i was impressed how be got mcneil out of bother a couple of times.

he is a solid replacment at CB should we need one but hogg should probaly merit a start ahead of him

agreed - but poor use of the ball in midfield meant he and murphy had far to much work to do.

the bookings in no way reflect the game, i'd say mccann and chisolm both desrved cards, both late tackles verging on profession fouls...

can't believe not one st murn player merited a card

No mention of big Tam upfront - he had some excellent touches and it's only that the rest of the team was so poor that nothing came of it.

JC made brave HT subs but puting two up front would've been braver and might have got us the all important second goal

I agree with singling out Thomas K. I plumbed for the three in the title because of the 90minutes they all played.

However I was very disappointed with JC's decision to take Sowunmi off at HT. He won all but everything in the air but not only just got something on it. He made sure they were the right knock downs and played to the right positions.
I felt it would of been better giving him someone to play alongside second half. Albeit moving back to a rigid 4-4-2, removing Stewart and bringing in Benji to support him or moving Ivan more central position. This might have brought far more luck in creating opportunities for ourselves the way Tam was playing. He deserved another 10-20minutes.

We played well and got the ball to the edge of the box. Then seemed to cross it over the box when know one was at the back opst or whatever. It was hard to take a draw considering we passed the ball well for long spells of the game.

Stewart had a nightmare, Boozy just isnt playing well at all either.

we were luck to get a draw the number of freekicks we gave away arround the box and the number of crosses st murn had.

Debatable. We should have had a few of our own dangerous Free Kicks, what about that bloody challenge on Zemamma. Yet Brown got a Freekick for his belly flop - unbelievable.

referee was awful, but as JC said the team never got out of first gear.

sproule was a passenger first half (not really his fault though).

stewart was like playing with a man down.

keane missed when it was easier to score.

their keeper had one maybe two saves to make?

I dont think a hibs win would've been a fair result....though the card situation definately wasn't a fair result
