Season Ticket Availability for 2007-08

Like many of you, I intend on purchasing a ST for 07-08 (regardless of entitlement to a brief for a possible Scottish Cup Final). I've just checked the official site again and, again, a holding message appeared.

As I understand it, inclusive of half STs, we currently have approximately 11,500 ST holders. I would be surprised if many, if any, of those relinquished their coveted seat over the close season. Also, I've been reliably informed by the Yoda like wisdom of young zondervan that both the FF and the West are completely sold out. Which suits me anyway. I've always been a 'terracing tam'.

However, Easter Road only has a capacity of approximately 17,000, of which roughly 3,800 are in the Whyte & Mackay Stand, i.e. the away end. 11,500 plus 3,800 makes an aggregate of 15,300. Which leaves only 1,700 seats. Will all these seats be available as STs? Or would the club (wisely, in my opinion) ensure that at least 1,000 are available for walk-ups for each game. Which would ensure Hibbies are not disenfranchised, as happens at clubs notorious for attracting glory hunters (I'm thinking Man Utd, Rangers and Celtic).

Or would the club introduce three levels of STs, like they do at the madhouse, across the city? That would seem to make sense, after all, why should we allow Rangers and Celtic the full stand when they don't do the same for us?

Clearly, resident in Cardiff as I am, I'd never make every home game; my intention is to give the ST to zondervan who would let other Hibbies use it but ensure I could use it for the matches I'm up for (I'm hoping to be up once a month in the coming season, bonuses permitting).

Does anyone have any clear idea of what the club's intentions are? And I fully understand that priority is likely to be given to locally based fans.

Also, it would seem likely that a waiting list for STs will be needed. Again, does anyone know how this will operate? How a long distance Hibbie like me can ensure his name is on that list?

Further, given that my bonus tends to be exhausted (pished up the wall would be a more appropriate and truthful phrase!) during my sojourns north, does anyone know what the availabilty of corporates for each home game would be? What the likely cost would be and how far in advance you would need to book?

It's absolutely great seeing the support our cultural, identity defining institution now attracts, and while this post is obviously born out of blatant self-interest, it is a challenge for the present custodians of the club to ensure that as many true fans can get to see the team as possible during the coming season.

I'm in a similiar kind of boat as you Scott, I'm going to buy a season ticket next year, but there is no way I'll make every home game.Donating it to friendly Hibbys is my thinking too, but first dibs remain with me.

If you are a season ticket holder it doesnt matter whether you live in Leith,Wales or Timbuktu...you paid your money so thats good enough. The buy back system sounds like a good option. If you know you cannot make a game and cant shift your s/t on to a fellow hibby, call the club and they can re-sell your seat.

Re: Season Ticket Availability for 2007-08

Not all half season ticket holders are located in the home stands. A large number were sold as "Cat B" in the South Stand as the West & FF had sold out. That's were I put "me old mam".I didn't think the terracing could handle a 68 year old Great Gran. I was told when I purchased the ticket for her that these membres would be given priority to purchase tickets for the Cat A matches when Rantic & the Gunts come calling ( although I'm not sure that actually happened for the derby)

Do the club sell "Cat B" season tickets for entire season?

We get the 3 main games live on tv over here so am interested in getting one of these if possible

Re: Season Ticket Availability for 2007-08

If demand for STs increases as much as it sounds like its going to, Hibs should definitely make half of the south stand available for STs that include games against the old firm. I know this has been discussed before and some people weren't for it cos of lost revenue in seats used for segregation, but I think it'd send out a really positive message, Hibs putting the interest of the fans first and not giving in to every demand of the old firm. have Hibs ever been in this position before, the demand for STs potentially going to outstrip supply?

I would be delighted to see us have enough season tickets that it became possible for the club to squeeze out the OF fans, but maintain our agreement with hearts. However it would be require a huge acheivement in order to sell 13,000 season tickets.

I'll be very surprised if we don't sell 13,000 STs for the coming season. I've only made six matches this season and at times it has been absolutely joyous to watch.

In fact, I'd class that second half performance just nine days ago as being as complete a display of footballing majesty I've ever seen from a Hibs team.

And I include the performances in the 6-2 game, the Athens Euro match and the 1-0 Skol Cup semi against the huns in making that statement.

I think there's a fairly good chance that Hibs could sell 13,000. Out of the 15,000 or so non-ST holders who were at Hampden there must have been a good few who would've been tempted to start going more reguarly and possibly get an ST after seeing that display and sampling the atmosphere

finacially its not worth my while, I make more away games than home games...

st mirren, OF, killie, well, falkirk all closer that ER.

but it's now easier to get tickets for those games that one's at ER...

dont get me wrong I'm not complaining...I know the options under the current scheme.

whats required for me is a loyalty scheme....but this has been discussed to death.

Barring some sort of collapse between now and then, eg. lose on Sunday and the Pars semi, I'd be surprised as well.

I was hoping to get one for my sons to share but I really like where we sit now (front row of West upper) so it would need a spare seat to come up either side of us. I'll probably renew before the deadline and then see if there's anything decent to move to on the first day of the free for all.

Total football Scott and no mistake. I gave my DVD to a hun fan mate (who was at the game but had a seat at the front - killie end - and didnt see it properly). I told him to watch the game and report back on his thoughts as he will never see proper football played by proper footballers in his life at castle greyskull. He told me to fuk off - but he took the DVD home to watch it anyway. Its great being

I'll be doing the same. I have a few mates that can't afford either an ST or going every week and I can't make every game due to the kids. Everybody's happy.

At present the number of season ticket holders I think is 10,500 full tickets and 600 half season ticket holders though happy to be corrected on that.

I think a positive outcome of the Dunfermline semi final will be absolutely crucial in determining the number of season tickets sold for the following season

If you offer the carrott of a precious cup final ticket with any season ticket bought during the first 3 weeks of May then you are obviously going to create a huge demand.

The capacities of the four stands at Easter Road are as follows:

Upper Lower Total
Famous Five 2,149 1,680 3,829
South Stand 2,195 1,748 3,943
West Stand 3,617 2,848 6,465
East Terracing N/a 3,221 3,221
17,458

Hence the margins available are reducing all the time.

I think it's due to the space the corporate seats take up in the middle of the FF stand whereas the South disnae have any.

I also think that seats sold as corporate packages are not counted in the total attendance. But if they are put on general sale then they are.

I think that's where the lower attendances when there is not a gap to be seen comes from.

The Final was my 4th game this season and 6th game overall this season ive enjoyed my outings so much more, with this being my last year at uni (hopefully) and with me possibly moving to Fife it should be easier to attend more matches so i fully intend on buying a ST.
